patsfire32
Hello everyone, just wanted to see if anyone in here has Walt's armor and how it compares to SC's armor kit. I am on the smaller side (5'7" 145 lbs) so I wanted to see which one would be a better fit for me. Also which one is better in terms of accuracy and quality. Appreciate the feedback. stasz
I don't know if anyone has a finished WTF kit yet. It looks like he's starting to pull them, and some people are getting the belts now, but I think it's too early yet to have a good comparison of WTF and other makers. From what I've seen on his FB page, it looks really nice. In general, WTF makes really nice stuff and I'm excited to see another reputable maker tackling the scout, giving us another good source. I'm keeping an eye on his page as people start to receive their kits and put them together...
BikerScout007
It's pretty similar in accuracy to a SC. The chest is a little better and the belt is a one-piece. I wish the dropboxes were smaller. It seems only MonCal makes dropboxes the right size.
Stroker
I know there was a lot of time put into it. However I wish they would have gotten it more accurate for folks here in the states. I figured they would have went the same route as the kids size biker which is pretty accurate.
cheesewhoopy
I have his chest and belt both of which I like much more that the SC kit. I've seen the rest of his armor in person at his shop and it's top notch. The quality of ABS plastic he uses is fantastic and his pulls are super sharp. I have a photo of his chest compared to SC. There's much more dimension to his chest, which I like a lot better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
stasz
Aaron, I wondered if it was WTF when you posted up your pre-clearance pics. It really is a nice, sharp sculpt and pull. My TI armor and chest box is WTF and I was really impressed with the quality of material he uses.
swagger
One significant thing I really like about Walt's kit is that the whole belt is one piece.
BikerScout007
The biggest problem I have with most Scout chest pieces is that they are too long. And because the chest pieces are too long, everything else tends to get pushed down -- the pouches, the belt and the codpiece. To wear the costume properly you need the belt on your waist, across your belly button, and the pouches filling the gap between the belt and the chest piece. But that's hard to do when the chest piece is too long. Look at the scouts in this photo and see how high up the chest piece actually sits.

Jeff just posted in another thread that SC kits are now shipping with a one piece belt as well!

Now we don't have to send some Scouts over to have a ....chat with him.

Don't forget MC under boob...I suffer from that right now and a square neck...
BikerScout007
I never forget underboob, bro And yes the square neck is a problem. The movie neck was definitely round and as you can see from the photo, the armor sat very close to the neck. That might only be a gap of about an inch

BikerScout007
What book are those photos from? I think I got them from Star Wars Insider. I'd have to double check!

rottie
It's really odd reading about yourself. Does anyone have the correct specs on the drop boxes. ? How I came up with the specs. I printed all the pics I could find. Sketched a scale on every picture and blew them up to be all the same size then I took a known part measured it and took that measurement and applied it to eat scale of the pictures So it's got to be close If someone has better info shoot me a pm!! Please!!!

Please!!! Hey Walt, good to see you. Hitup Constantin (Strider). He's done a ton of research and has a very close if not dead-on measurement. I'm sure he'd be glad to help. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showuser=80599

Please!!! Better to be talked about than not talked about at all The boxes are tough to nail down. Gino and Constantin have come the closest. MonCal is probably a good second. SC is slightly too big. KS is outrageously too big. Walt, I think yours fall in between SC and MonCal.
koyuhelio
I just received my WTF kit!! I came here today to search for some drop box info. Mine are huge!! I'll post pics when I get that far. Just barely started to trim and sand arm pieces. Seriously, huge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
