keys Posted March 4, 2017 Posted March 4, 2017 Apologies if this doesn't post correctly, I'm once again without internet and posting from my phone... I'm doing the initial test fit of my SC kit to work out what/where I'll need to alter to fit my frame. I've run into a few snags I need assistance with: 1) the chest and back piece fits decent, but is about 2-3" too wide on the sides. Would it be safe to heat/bend it into position better? 2) the forearm piece is... huge on my tiny noodle arms. Is there any bringing this in, or should I look into a kid sized piece? 3) the edge of the vest sleeves need to stick out past the shoulder bells, but not be strapped down by the upper arm piece, correct? I think I need to redo my vest, sleeves are too long. I know I'll need to trim the shoulder bells, but I'm worried my arms are too stumpy for the kit and come submission I'll get denied based on that. Any suggestions are welcome! 1
Bubonos Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 Lol!!!! Oh the feels!!! I am a skinny ass guy and had the same issue, or so i thought. When you have the flight suit on, they will fit better. I made my straps as short as I could to the point they bend inward some. I also stuck on Velcro to the pads and stitched it on my selves and knees. This helps with pads slipping a lot, but you'll have to replace and upgrade Velcro over time as it gets old. Hope this helps!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk 1
Bubonos Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 I see you do need trimming due to short arms and I can't help you on trimming. Not sure the rules on that but my buddy had to wait till after he was approved to trim his Sandy. He walked around like the tin man waiting for approval. Now if the scouts have rules on how much you can trim, idk. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J120A using Tapatalk
BikerScout007 Posted March 5, 2017 Posted March 5, 2017 SC bells are too long off the bat. I am 6 feet tall and I trimmed about 1.5 inches off them. And yes, you only want the sleeve to pop out a bit from underneath of them and keep the strap loose enough so that the sleeves don't flare. There's not much room to trim on the bicep armor unfortunately, but you may be able to tweak the forearm a bit. Check out Pandatrooper's build thread and see what he did: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781&st=60 4
