TB 13016 Requesting Lancer Status (WITHDRAWN)

Well, today was the day I became official as both a member of the 501st and as a Pathfinder. I believe I built my armor to the highest standards and am anticipating your feedback.

I received my armor kit from Chef, including the soft goods. I assembled the helmet myself along with all the strapping, rivets, velcro, snaps, buckles, etc.

I also built the boots on my own.

The hold out blaster was from DVH.

I hope you enjoy. I set up a photo bucket and also added them to the photo gallery, wanted to make sure they came through one way or another.

Thanks for your application. The command staff will review and provide feedback. Keep in mind that adding pics to a Photo album on the forum is not always the best idea, as not everyone has access to view them. I'll tweak the settings so that the command staff can all view the photos. Stand by trooper...

Thanks Griffin-x. I did a photobucket as well so that hopefully they can be seen by everyone. I did a lot of pictures and thought that would be best. Standing by...

Hey Robert, here is some feedback from the Lancer review team. Great build overall!

  1. Aerator on the snout needs to be painted black.
  2. Pouches need to be separated a bit so you can see all the ribs on the bund between them.
  3. Cod section on the bund is too low. Need to pull the bund up a few inches (just below the side straps on the chest/back) and loosen the crotch strap off a bit.
  4. The bicep greeblies appear to be Don-Jarr, which are not accurate.

I will get some updated pictures of the corrections. As per #4....the greeblies were supplied to me by Chef, so I am assuming they are the correct ones for Lancer. I am not familiar with Don-Jarr.

Sounds good. The greeblies have ridges, whereas the onscreen scouts did not. They should look like this:

I will have to discuss this with Chef then. He told me everything he was sending me was Lancer spec. Do you know the best place to get these from?

There are a few vendors who make them, SC is the most prominent. You could also fill in the notches, repaint, and you'd be good to go. I went through a similar thing with mine.

Edit: I did confirm with Chef on the t-bit greeblies. They are the DJ greeblie. See below:

Hey Robert,

thanks for bearing with us. We did have some discussions about different options to get the relations between pouches, belt and cod piece right. Our suggestions are as follows:

- Shorten the shoulder strap of the back (about an inch for starters) and the chest (~0.5 inch)

- Exchange the pouches for smaller ones (I understand your currently in touch with Chef in this regard)

- Move up the belt by about an inch

- Straighten out the cod piece to avoid the dreaded "camel toe" ;-)

I was not sure which picture would work since photobucket has been having issues.

Thank you,

Hi Robert,

a few of us just came back from holidays so thanks for bearing with us. Looks good so far just a few things:

- Could you please post a picture of the back and side? It might be that Photobucket messed this up so I would recommend using another filesharer (flickr, imgur, etc...)

- The arm armor should (left/right) should sit on the same level and should not be overlapping

- There's a pretty large gap between the shoulder armor and the chest armor. Please try to shorten the strap between them

Reference for adjustments:

Thanks!

Hi Robert,

thanks for the update pics. Here's our feedback list:

- Both pouches should be about an inch apart from the last rib chamber respectively.

- The cod looks very straight on the upper sides also very wide on the lower section when you compare to reference image, it also has straight stiching and it appears to be too high.

- The shoulder bridge straps look loose, also because of how the armor is connected they look stepped on the side photos. As a suggestion I would cut off more of the bridge section of the front/back armor.

- The chest to back side straps are bunched up on the chest side

- The drop boxes should be even, one is lower than the other

- The belt straps at the rear appear to cross over (which they shouldn't)

- The cummerbund is bunched up a bit at the back

Additional observation (not required):

- On back photo some of the black decal is sticking up on left bottom of the tank. Also some of the six stripes are not quite straight.

- Vest sleeves look at different lengths, probably a fitment issue, be aware when next kitting up.

Cheers

Thanks for the feedback....for the forth time.

Every time I fix the issues in any given picture, 10 more pop up. I built this to Lancer spec and have submitted pictures 4 times, each time being told different things to fix.

I believe I am done at this point.....thank you!
