Cheesewhoopy's Biker Scout Build

Recommended Posts

I figured I'd start posting what I've done so far to get some feedback. My goal is lancer. I've already re done the cummerbund twice and the cod piece three times lol didn't realize how OCD this build would make me. I was fortunate enough to pick up a one piece belt and Chest plate from WTF. The chest plate fits my dimension much better than the SC which was just a bit too flat for me. Here's what I've got so far. I'm going to make the cod piece strap longer so it connects to my flak vest and not the cummerbund. Right now you can see the Velcro poking out and it's ugly. Any feedback is much appreciated. b2b23639090c737c33ce9329e8bd6415.jpgd816e348e6db61e07bc321c58eddad21.jpg22fabd6dc9ebc180e03407648b7baffa.jpg83da02d5de393e3ce0890af741b11427.jpgb1550b1929c26268740977c65fa1eb3b.jpg

For the thermal detonator clips I purchased a pair of wallet clips from amazon and then I used my Dremel with cutting wheel to make them have more depth. Its subtle but looks much nicer. 6bee04677c57cca5936ec3a5e5be0a40.jpg

It all looks really good to me! You nailed the cuts on the boot toes. The only thing that is not visible in the pics is the riding patch position while your wearing the cod. It's probably okay but I just couldn't see it. You will probably want to spread the pouches apart about an inch each direction. It all looks really fantastic. Here is a shot I took of the blue ray. I was measuring from the pouch to the outer bund stitch.

Thanks man! Pouches are just pinned in place at the moment so I can easily move them over a bit when I sew them on. Once I get the right patch sewn on I'll take a picture with more light so they're more visible. As of right now they cover about half of my thigh and go down just under the knee armor.

I would pin and post before you sew the riding patch. They should NOT go under the knee armor. The top should go under the cod.

I used this as reference and it looks to me like it goes under the knee. And I have the top under the cod.

There is some controversy over this photo. It's on a mannequin. The knees should be about an inch above the boots so that puts them too high.

Understood, my patches are just barely under the knee, but I'll see if I can tweak them to sit just above it

If they are already attached, Talk to the armory team and / or your GML before you change anything. I'm just a dude who loves the Biker Scout.

Pouches look great! What was the pattern you used for those?

I actually made my own pattern for them. Here's a picture with the all the dimensions. The front flap is two piece sewn together then flipped inside out, ironed flat and then sewn to the pouch. 93c502d346cb81f3deb7967e0a39d575.jpg

And here's how they look on the bund 304e8385fddca21f49b450b07960e82b.jpg

Not sure if you want to do the zip tie method that way. Disclaimer: I haven't switched from the "old" method yet, but I believe you don't want it "doubled up" like that. I have concerns it may "poof" out and not lay flat across your shoulder.

EDIT: Well, strider did it that way and it looks pretty good, so....nevermind!

So here's my setup...Super simple and screen accurate.

The secret here is the releaseable zip-tie head on the bell side.

I cut it from a releaseable tie and used it here so that my shoulder bells are still removable on either end and can be adjusted on the bell side.

Ahhh that's a pretty unique way of doing it. I don't think I've seen that before in all the stuff I've read. I like that it's releasable. My way, I'd have to cut them off if I wanna change it lol
