Hey all, just curious about cushioning for the helmet, due to my inexperience and lack of time because of the coming celebration, I'm having my helmet built by SC, which I've heard they do a good job, I'm just curious about how cushioning would work within the helmet, where do I purchase the helmet cushions? I'm assuming that since the helmet itself didn't come with cushions that I need to buy them separately, so where do I get them? Advice is always appreciated!!!

The originals had welding helmet suspensions in them. I took a spare hardhat, cut off the mounting points, and hot glued them inside. Works great!

If you must have "padding", some people use cushion foam cut appropriately and either glued or maybe velcroed inside.

Still others have been known to use MICH helmet padding attached with velcro. That's what I used in my TD bucket.

I got mine fom a military surplus an use the padding they have for there helments . It comes with velcro so you can have it anyway you want it. Mine barley moves an its very comfortable

Mine came with padding but go get a $6 hard hat from Lowe's and glue the liner in your bucket.

Hardhat style liner works a treat & allows better airflow. I velcroed ( industrial strength ) mine, so it's a bit more flexible with fitting

Might sound a bit odd, but I use knee pads. I have one in my phase two helmet.

This is what it looks like before you cut or alter it.
