Dmorja
I have finally been able to start working my armor. First question is that the chest armor is a little small in the width department. If I use my heat gun will I be able to widen the side strap areas? I am pushing in on the chest to make it more form fitting. spike
this will be difficult to "bend or flair" as the plastic is formed in that shape, you maybe able to get some "flair" out to the side but slowly does it with a heat gun.
Chef
Yeah, I'd be careful. Because that part of the chest plate has taken the most forming during production, there is always a certain amount of latent stress in that area and if you heat it up too much it is more likely to deform faster than another part of it. (not that it's not a tricky business to start with). So you can gently tease a bit more of a flare out of it, but you really risk deforming the whole curve on that end and that will really ruin your day. If you're not confident at it, I would say leave well alone at this stage. Get it strapped up and see how it all looks before doing any major 'surgery'.
Dmorja
Thanks Steve and Rob. I am not confident in my heat gun usage yet so I will get the armor strapped and see how it looks.
Starwheels
what i would do is not mess with the ABS Plastic as you will end up breaking it best thing i can think of is make up some covers that will go over your shoulders make them out of white cotton & you will just have too make the velrco strips a bit longer but the white cotton covers will hide the velcro & you will have too make the side straps will have too be longer & have the velcro on the inside James
