Koumori Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I'm 5'6" 140 pounds and I was wondering if an Altmann would make me look like a bobblehead? Seen a few threads where guys are claiming it's for the bigger guys? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

StoutScout Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I am 5'6" and this is how Altmann's looks on me: 3
Koumori Posted January 9, 2017 Author Posted January 9, 2017 Salacious that looks fine to me. You don't look bobbly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2
Koumori Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 Anyone else like to chime in? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Retrofire Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 I'm just about three inches taller and I love my Altmanns! There is a great thread over in the armory discussing all the Scout lids available. Give it a look see it's a great reference. 1
Koumori Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 Retro, I think I looked through that sizing but Altmann wasn't talked about as much as others. If you guys think I'll be good I'll go for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Retrofire Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Here's my Altmanns on me: The XO is right in that the SC is a smaller bucket and what's important is how it fits on you. Maybe a good idea would be to post up in your garrison boards to the local scouts and see if you can try a bucket on. That way you're sure to know. Looks like you got a host of 'Bama scouts in your garrison and I'm sure they'll be happy to chime in. Again what's most important is how it fits and looks on you when suited up.
Koumori Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 Yeah we have the 38th recon squad here. I think I may go with an Altmann now and it looks like I can always trade it or sell it again if I decide I need something different. Seems like Altmanns have a good rep here. Koumori Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 Can't wait to put it on. First scout helmet! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
sibbel29 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 I am 6'1 and 155 pounds nd a small head but stll works for me.. SC should be even better for you, but ALT will do the trick
Koumori Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 sibbel, I would love an SC one but 450 for the assembled version not including shipping is just too steep for me. Spike is giving a great deal on his alt helm finished with 3 other parts I need to complete my snow scout. It just makes more sense. If I get my alt and find it just isn't fitting me I'll look at trading or selling though. Hope I don't have to however! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Koumori Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 Really Inklegg? I would definitely consider it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Starwheels Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Would an Altmann fit me? i've been talking to sc via fb messanger & been told due to me having a big / fat head there buckets wount work for me so need to know if a Altmann will fit me as i'm 6'.1 James
Shada Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 In all of the comparison threads I've read Alt seems to be considered the go-to bucket for big heads. I have an Altmann myself and can recommend it as a nice bucket Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Retrofire Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 It is Spike you need...PM him you must😀 1
Koumori Posted February 27, 2017 Author Posted February 27, 2017 Spike gave me a good deal and I picked up His knees belt and back finished. I'm building a snow scout so that's all I need besides the helmet. Hopefully it'll fit my smaller frame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
