Kyuzo Larkin
Is duct tape as good to use on the interior as Gaffer tape?
stasz
Gaffer tape is more like a cloth tape. It has a matte finish to it, where duct tape can be kind of reflective. The gaffer tape would also be easier to remove. Only thing I'd be concerned with is the slight reflectivity you might get inside your ears from camera flash, etc. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Kyuzo Larkin
would hot gluing suede work?
BikerScout007
I would stick with either gaffer tape or black painters tape if you can find it. Duct tape leaves too much residue that will be very difficult to clean out of your helmet
BikerScout007
would hot gluing suede work? I haven't tried it. I can't see why it wouldn't though I would be worried about it bunching up

Kosejonas
Yo dudes! Don't forget you can use gaffer's tape inside the helmet too. Ya know, like they did in the movie That's what I did with my RS Props bucket, because I did not want to paint the inside of it black. And don't forget you can get the bolts that were used in the originals here: http://forum.bikersc...showtopic=10270 This is the best idea ever! THANK YOU! I was really worried about painting it black, and you know ..... F*** it up hehe! Buying black gaffer right after work
CdnBison
Before I start hacking up my bucket, is there a downside to painting the inside of the helmet? That is, will the color start to bleed through the ABS at any particular point? I'd prefer to just get a can of spray paint, and go that route, personally, then add / adjust any padding / electronics later.

One reason was to get autographs inside. But I wouldn't think it would bleed through the plastic. Be careful about drips and runs that may roll over to the outside. CdnBison
I've already got Al's autograph in my TK bucket, so I'm OK on that front. I was planning on painting before I trimmed, so that should help minimize the chances of any accidents.
Southscout
Just another tip on the inside of the helmet if anyone looks here. Since you're probably adding adhesive velcro to your armor pieces, put some of the fuzzy side on the inside of helmet, behind the ears. Easy, fast, and black as sin. Hawkeye8304
I painted the inside of my SC bucket. No bleed through. If anything it stops any light going through and I just like the way it looks. Also I would imagine if you use a good matte black a silver sharpie would show up well enough on it.
