haribon72
Hello Everyone, I need help on the helmet Snout Greeblie - What color grey do we use? I recently purchased UKSWrath mic system and I could not find a matching color. I removed the old grey from my CB helmet snout plate and tried different grey spray paints from the store shelves (Home Depot, Michaels, Lowes, OSH, Hobby Lobby....etc. I was told recently to use a grey primer. So I picked up the Rust-Oleum High Heat Primer (#249340). Here's what it looks like with the grey primer. Its very dull and not matching the glossy UKSWrath snout greeblie. My last resort is to remove the grey primer and spray the snout plate and greeblie white primer and land it with a Machinery Gray gloss finish. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you. Chef
Primer grey seems to be most common. I think the originals were a bit 'lighter', but you won't go wrong with primer grey (which seems closest to your decals as well).
kayelbe
Yep, primer gray here. Originally, I had sprayed them Testors Light Gull Gray, which I thought looked good. That is, until I swapped out the decals. Then it looked too light.

haribon72
I visited Hobby Town in Sunnyvale, California. They were able to help me out and suggested to use this paint: Model Master Custom Lacquer System Grey Primer No. 28137 $6.19 a can. This is what it looks like after it has been freshly painted. This is what it looks like after 15 minutes of dry time. This paint is less grainy compare to the automotive / industrial grey primer from the hardware store. Its not glossy. Its doesn't have that dull look. Here's the spray can information below: Let me know if you have a winner! Thank you!
