RaggedyAndy
Hey everyone! I've been looking around some of the forums and have noticed that there are apparently different levels of approval such as level 1, level 2, and level 3. I'm honestly wondering if someone could explain them to me, because I haven't been able to find anything on the 501st website. I want to make sure that I'm doing this right. Thank you for your help! -Andy
kayelbe
Every costume in the 501st has at least one level, often referred to as "Basic Approval". Basic, despite the name, ensures accuracy beyond just buying a costume. Many, but not all, costumes also have levels of accuracy beyond Basic. For example, for Biker Scouts, Level Two is called "Lancer". Approval beyond Basic is completely optional. For specific costume requirements, refer to the Costume Reference Library (CRL) for that costume. Each CRL entry will have Black, Blue, and Red text, as applicable; these denote Basic, Level 2, and Level 3 requirements.
BikerScout007
Hey Andy! Judging by your avatar I assume you are building a Shoretrooper. There is currently no Level 2 for the Shore, that will happen sometime in the next year as we compile more and more information about it. At the Pathfinders Detachment, we traditionally only have 2 levels. There just hasn't been the need for a Level 3 at this time.
darkTURBO04
http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TB_Scout_trooper The 501st visual guide states what requirement is needed for the optional levels. I'm not sure where it is you were looking or saw. Levels are just costuming acheivements within the detachments for folks wanting as close to screen accurate depictions of the costumes used in the films. Not having a level 2 or beyond costume does not make you any more or less of a 501st member, (unless you're a TK still trooping with an FX helmet . . . j/k).
RaggedyAndy
Thank you all so much! I apologize for all the seemingly basic questions. I was afraid that there was something that I was completely missing. I'll definitely check out the databanks and the CRL. This is all making more sense now. Thank you all, again!!
