stormy86
Hi everyone this is Kyle over at 850 Armor Works. It has been announced that our ab plate is not up to spec for the Shoretrooper according to the LMO. It is in my opinion that this choice was made using the gen 1 ab plate section. We have since updated our molds to lower the 2 middle boxes to the correct placement over the ribbed middle box. This is the current ab plate that customers are receiving. However we are aware that many people building this armor are using the gen 1 ab section. In regards to this, we feel it in in your best interest to modifying your current ab plate rather than buy a whole new one. We recommend either abs/styrene to build up the flat section that is present to mimick the two raised boxes. We used 2 pieces of foam. This is not a pretty fix it is just to show the possibility of what you can do.....again not pretty. We cut the foam the the appropriate length to cover the gap. We know that they are too wide and tall against the existing boxes. We then glued them into place. Added paint. In all reality the existing boxes need to be brought up to level with the ribbed box. But we do not ha e the time to do this ourselves at this exact time. This is just for reference. Please by all means comment and tell us what you think. Obey Wann
Here is a quick comparison of your rev 3 to the screen used Part A: Seems close, but I highly recommend taking this down flat and supplying a 3D printed/resin/rubber part for detail Part B: Seems close, but I highly recommend taking this down flat and supplying a 3D printed/resin/rubber part for detail. Your rev 2 is infinitely better than my rev 1. Part C: Needs total rework. I highly recommend taking this down flat and supplying a 3D printed/resin/rubber part for detail Part D: Your part is entirely too long. It needs to stop at the height of the Part B. This is just a quick look at it.
stormy86
Mold has been pulled for updating. In regards to the comments made about our backplate We split the kidney plate and the box the last time we modded our molds. This is what you now get. BSP has the box molded into the kidney plate. Just for the comparison Currently updating...again... the ab plate Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

stormy86
Is there a consensus on how wide the the ridges on the side of the ab plate are. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

TheDon
In my opinion the ab box detail is too narrow on the Gen2 and the back plate as well is too narrow.
stormy86
The back plate is scaled off of the msa heat sink. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

And will make adjustments from there Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

haui
Why do you make the 3 Parts from ABS? Make the armor plain and the parts from resin. it looks better and it is like the original. I do not understand why every armor maker makes this mistake.
Xenuprime
I see the detail between the 2 front boxes, very cool! I am curious how well that will show up. Either way, great job with these revisions.

I do not understand why every armor maker makes this mistake. We do it this way for ease and cost. If every detail was resin cast we would have to raise the price of the armor, as well as shipping to accommodate the added weight. stormy86
We have placed an order for .080"(2mm) abs. It is due to arrive in about 3 to 4 weeks. For reasons below, we will be switching to using a combination of both .093 and .080. Abdomen update Overheated .093 abs on the left. .100 styrene on the right. As you can see, .093 abs is only going to have so much detail. Center blocks have been widened, left side pyramid shortened, ridge on middle top of center block added, side grooves added. The side grooves are being beefed up today Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk

I did tell Kevin though to get me a shipping quote for just my helmet as I'd like to start woking on that now at least...thanks!
stormy86
We should have our new plastic on January 13. We will be posting photos of a full set of armor in the new plastic. Also we will be doing a build of our own (finally) to show a fully completed set up, building it the way we originally intended for it to be put together. I hope everyone had a great holiday season.
