Screen Accurate Boots?

Hi all,

So I'm thinking of picking up these boots (They're on Etsy if anyone wants to have a closer look) and I wanted the expert eye to look over them to assure me that they will meet the scout specifications (and maybe Lancer?). I've tried making my own but... I'm not a craftsman  I destroyed much vinyl... so much vinyl :)

Here are a few images from the store page:

Cheers,

Two things jump out right away. First, the sole is two tone and would need to be painted one color.

Second, in the front on view they seem to flare out quite a bit as they go up the "smoke stack". This should be more of a straight tube with little to no flare. That could be the way the Velcro is fastened though I suppose, but if it's the way the vinyl is cut it might be an issue. I don't know if it would jam up approval, but it's not really right.

Kind of a bummer because they do look well made.

The other issue you might run into is that the overall height. The boots need to come up just under your knee armor for Lancer. Being pre-made these could be too tall or short.

OK. It's just that I don't have the craftmanship to make my own.

As they make them to size, I could always ask for a certain height and to ask if they can avoid the flaring.

Also, on my monitor, it doesn't look two-tone...

Thanks for looking though statz. I might pick them up anyway as anything is better than a pair of wellingtons :P

Hey Stormie have you checked out the trade forum? There are a few boot makers on there. There is chrisx909x, marcel, and a few other I believe. I had Chris make the parts for my boots and finished assembly myself but he can do the whole nine yards for you if you want. The makers there are scouts and your boots will be top notch. Take a look and let us know if you have any questions.
