Dmorja
Hello, My Armor is supposed to ship this weekend so I thought it would be a good time to post what I have finished thus far and get some feedback. Any help is very much appreciated. I will continue to post updates as the journey to Endor continues. I am looking to go Lancer so any direction and/or tips are helpful.

Dmorja
I have started on the cummerbund, cod, and the pouches. I used the template from the forum and adjusted it for my size. I received the size and dimensions of the chest armor from Spike so I would have a good estimate on the size. I have completed the first pouch. How does it look? Anything I need to adjust? Dmorja
Look what arrived last night. The Altmann Armor. It looks terrific and I was suprised and happy that much of it came pretty assembled. Can't wait to start working with it. Dmorja
Started working on the armor. I am of course viewing Panda's information with some modifications for the bug guy size. I started making the straps to attach the chest and back together. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk I attached the straps to see how it would fit. The initial fitting showed the back piece of the Altmann Armor fits well but the chest is still a little small for me. My chest size is 56 and Altmann built the armor for a 44 to 48 size. I will need to see what I can do for some modifications.
Dmorja
I have made some progress on the build. I have fished the knees. It is a little hard to see the two straps. I will take a better picture later. I also worked on the shoulder bells. I made the straps too tight the first time so I am redoing them and adding snaps to make them easier to secure when putting it on. This is the first testing on the Ductape dummy to see how everything fits. Of course I tried it on myself and ran around the house a bit. My vest sleeves are too long so I will be fixing that. If you notice anything in the pics that I can update please let me know. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Stroker
Bicep armour is upside down. Also the rivet on the knee should be on the outer edge. That's a little to far forward on it. Also the pouch flaps are too wide. You want the flap to cover half the pouch towards the bottom.
Dmorja
It has been a while since I posted. I have the cummerbund and cod complete or at least the latest version. I will be starting on new pouches to make them longer. I have also ordered and received and new RedKap. It is being tailored. I will be making new patches since I was instructed that my current ones do not go high enough. Also looking at the picture my vest sleeves flair a little so I will work on that. Any other comments would be welcome. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
kayelbe
It could be the mannequin, but it looks like your bund is too long. Your belt should be worn across the bellybutton/above the hip bones (your natural waist). I mention this because you said you needed to make longer pouches, to (I assume) fill the space between chest and belt. There's already way too much space, imo. Judging solely by your mannequin shot above, I'd recommend probably a belt width off the bottom of the bund.

Thanks Kevin, the mannequin is a duct tape dummy of me so the dimensions are close to accurate. Unfortunately I am a rather big guy (well mostly my gut) so the belt is actually sitting at the belly button and just above the hips. I was unhappy with the belt straps so I am redoing them. As soon as that is done I will post some pics of me wearing the bund and armor. This way I can remeasure to ensure the pouches are the correct size. I am very open to suggestions to improve on anything, but pics are sometimes difficult to tell a person's size so I have been learning through many trial and errors how to adapt items but still maintain the standard. There is not an ART team near me so I try and show up when the local garrison is out to view and ask questions.
Dmorja
Ok so I have been working on the pouches. These are just tacked on which is why they are a little off. I have had to make these bigger to fill in the space between the chest armor and belt. I looked through the Lancer site to see how they should be shaped but I am still wondering if these are to big? cheesewhoopy
Just my opinion, but those pouches are a bit too big. Consider wearing you belt a few inches higher. Ideally it should go across your belly button. It's different for everyone but my pouches are about 5.5inches long by 5.5 inches wide. Also if possible try bringing your shoulder bells closer to the shoulder bridge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dmorja
Thanks Aaron, that is my dilemma the belt is going across the belly button. These were the first pouches I made but didn't look square enough. Do they look better or should I go with something in between. Stroker
Pouchs can be a pain trust me. The flaps are too short. They should come all the way to the bottom of the pouch. They seem to be long. How tall are you?
Dmorja
I'm 6'2. I have around 10 inches between the bottom of the armor and where the belt is setting at the belly button. I agree about the pouches . Any suggestions? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Stroker
I would try and shorten them a bit. You still want a pouch a little longer than wide.
Stroker
You've probaly seen this before. However it's my go pic for pouches.
Dmorja
Yes , I also have been looking at the Lancer photos. The big pouches are 9x10 and the skinny pouches are 6x10 so maybe I try a 7x8.5 and see how they look. Retrofire
Hang in there brother it will come together. I'm working on a new bund and it's all been trial and error so far. The bund part is easy but the cod is the bugger. I should have got stock in a manila folder factory😄! Just wanted to encourage you that you're not alone in your quest for the perfect piece!

Stroker
7x8.5" will probably be a good fit. Trust me we all been through it. I'm redoing my cod piece again for the 3rd time. We're here to help
Griffin-X
Overall your build is looking really good Jason. Keep up the great work!
cheesewhoopy
I think if you go 7x8.5" that will look much better. And like others said don't fret, I made 2 cummerbunds, 3 cods, 2 flak vest and 2 sets of pouches before I felt "happy" with them lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kayelbe
Just for extra moral support, I also made 3 bunds, and 4 cods. I got lucky on the pouches. I am going to redo them all, though. Like most everyone else, I'm not satisfied yet.
