TD Tube

Hi,

 

I painted my TD tube with a primer grey, just want to check with you guys if the color is ok for Lancer spec.?

And, you can see on the picture that I heated and reformed my endcap to make it concave

(it's not centered with the tube, it's not yet paste)

I think the colour and the concave end looks good. In my opinion. :-)

Looks good. How did you heat the end cap and what did you use to get the shape?

I heated with a heat gun at low until the plastic becomes "malleable/soft" slightly, and then, I pushed with an Addict A Ball (a kind of plastic puzzle ball) to shaped it, the ball has approximately a diameter of 7 inches, just perfect for the end cap

Does the standard, "out of the box" SC tube meet lancer standard or does it need painting?

I asked the armourers and they recommended a medium grey color for the TD. I would use some fine sandpaper to scuff it up and the wash it with soap and water before you paint it to get any residue off.

Get you a 1.5" od piece of hose and wrap it in RJ-11 telephone wire thats light gray in color. That's the most accurate way till we find the orginal stuff the y used on the screen used scouts TD.
