I used scrap ABS and traced out the boxes and just put crazy glue on the edges and then pressed the boxes on. Chicago screws (loctite on the threads) through that ABS piece through the belt.

Hi,

How did you sew the two straps together to make one?

Just set them up side by side and used a setting that looked about right on my sewing machine.

So has anyone found a good off the shelf option for the metal slider thing on the back of the belt or are the people making belts having those custom made?

I believe someone on facebook has been offering them for sale. They are not required for level 1 though if you have a hard time finding one.

Guys, @Darth Robert is making the nicest belt I've seen so far. He is very fast and helpful.

Took a lot of time in research and cross checked a lot of different material.

Send him a PM if your like me and have no sowing skills and need help.

Can't seem to find Darth Robert on the forums. Where would I PM him?

Any specifics regarding the weave pattern? I noticed in the Shoretrooper CRL the black belt has a traditional nylon ribbed pattern where as the tan belt looks almost like cotton weave. Any recommendations on vendors for belt material?

anyone having issues with the TD and pringle can armor piece? I have mine velcro'd to the fabric belt but I'm not 100% confident the velcro will always hold. Especially when people try to put their arm around me for a photo (which I usually can move out of the way and avoid)

Hi Joe

Have you attached your TD, Pringle can and drop box too another piece of ABS like this

If so , use heavy duty Velcro on the inside and attach to your belt. I just spent the whole weekend at Birmingham Comic Con and it never even felt like coming off, it got knocked , and I had arms around me for photos and had no issues at all mate, just make sure you used heavy duty Velcro

Word of advice, as I've been trooping my boxes have been coming loose as the fiberglass hole expands. I've been filling the holes in with e6000 but you might be able to use something else to fill the holes

What's the deal with the "pringle can?" I'm having a hard time with the thermal detonator and getting the end caps glued on. Anyone have any recommendations?

What's the issue ? Is it simply down to the glue your are using ?

I had a really hard time getting the flat TD sheet to form into the circle. I found a few posts where people used a pvc pipe to help create the right shape. That seemed to do the trick!
