If you're wearing hip armor, you'll use the Brown Belt with the associated greeblies. But if you choose to wear a Kama (Squad Leader), you will use a black belt with associated greeblies. They are both made of a nylon or polypro material. 1.5" butted together to form a 3" belt, with a zig zag stitch in the middle.

Here are some nice diagrams made by Billy Haggis.

Do we have a color chosen for the belt?

Coyote Brown is what most are using.

These are great diagrams, one thing to note is that the extra large box is actually two pieces. A standard box with an extension on top. That's one detail many haven't noticed yet.

I'd be careful with the coyote brown. It can look a little too khaki green, I guess depending on the maker. I went with this:

And here's my belt. (I'll be fixing that double box last)

Ya, I noticed that! Getting a 3D printed alternative created as we speak

Here's a 'coyote brown' that I bought from ebay compared to my darker brown belt. Way too green, so just be careful that you know what you're buying.

Yeah that's way too green, almost like they sent you the wrong color.

Yeah, that's what I thought, and emailed them about it, but they confirmed. I mean, it didn't look THAT green to the eye, but still... yikes.

Jut an FYI, the Large Belt Box from Celebration is broken. It need not be two separate pieces. (afaik).

Guys, @Darth Robert is making the nicest belt I've seen so far. He is very fast and helpful.

Took a lot of time in research and cross checked a lot of different material.

Send him a PM if your like me and have no sowing skills and need help.

That clip looks really good. Edges could be rounded a bit more.

But if opting to use a belt clip like this, how will you attach the thermal/back plate? Snaps on the sides of the belt? Clips?

Need to get the belt layout photos hosted on the forum so the link wont die ever.

I also think that belt clip was never meant to be seen so it shouldn't be make or break for anyone

Be careful to make sure you're ordering "Coyote BROWN" and not "Coyote TAN". The color "coyote Tan" has a green tint to it. Coyote BROWN is a more middle tone brown color.

for the material around the Pringle Can what are we using? Also ive never dealt with belts of this material so how are we mounting the PC,TD, and boxes to it?

Its just one width of the belt material. I just riveted my stuff to the belt.

Drill your rivet pilot hole. Or you could use a soldering iron to poke a hole. May want to put washers in between the rivet and belt.

Can anyone post a picture of what the inside of their belt looks like with the boxes attached? I'm curious and hoping for some guidance when the time comes to do my own

best method for poking a hole through the belt is?

I used a dremel to put a guide hole in to start the screw. Less likely to crack it and it goes in the right spot.

are the two parts of the belt overlapping and sewn together or do they just contact at the edges and are sewn together?
