netslave Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 The Ribbed Undersuit is a 'warm grey' (as described by the costume designer), and closely matches the color seen below. Ribs are roughly 1/8" wide. 2 Quote
netslave Posted November 2, 2016 Author Posted November 2, 2016 Also has a mesh material on the armpits. Quote
haui Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 But un this Pic the mesh is in the wrong direction normalle it goes downwards. Quote
Darth Tader Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 Where do you get a fabric like that ?? Sent from my Nexus 6 Quote
Darth Tader Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 ok next google search how to make ribbed fabric....... sewing lines easy. sewing STRAIGHT lines around a batting...... remains to be seen Quote
tk48911 Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 I know Jim Tripon has 1 that he's made...a few of us have ordered that one... Quote
Xenuprime Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 That's von Jim is nice but not accurate Yeah, I'm hoping a more accurate one comes up for sale before I need it. Jim's (which is great) could be modified, but until we get better info from the movie, etc, it may not be any better anyways. The one thing I'm not great at yet is sewing. Quote
Jayben Kenobi Posted December 9, 2016 Posted December 9, 2016 Are people getting approved with Jim's Ribbed Undersuit? Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk Quote

Work Posted December 10, 2016 Posted December 10, 2016 Yep, Jim's is perfectly acceptable for basic. 1 Quote
Chiro Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Sister Margaret's Gasket Emporium is making the ribbed shirts as well (look them up on fb) It's a lot more accurate, and appear to be much better made (no offense to Jim's Tailor), however they are a lot more pricey than Jim's. Quote

Is that confirmed? I inquired a few weeks ago and he said he short was too intricate. Only a few were made for the 850 folks. BUT if it's on again, I'd gladly go with Sister Margaret. Chiro Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I inquired last week and they were back to making them Quote
chimei Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 That honeycomb fabric is "spacing fabric"...they used it on the DREDD (2012) vests, and a thinner version is used for a lot of sneakers. Quote
Sullygoarmy505 Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Thanks for the post and the info about Sister Margarets! Quote
Nacho Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 I actually wrote Sister Margaret's about the undershirt. I recall a while back that they stated it will be a very limited production due to the complexity of the undershirt. This is what they stated. "So the shore. What was seen was the 2nd shirt made. There is some edits to come and hopefully a good method can be reached to get closer to screen accurate while maintaining costs. Many of these are going for 501st approval so that's the end goal. To have zero issues w approval. We are hoping to have an announcement near the end of Q1 for the shore. How many etc. given they are near 20 hrs of detail work the run may be limited. We'd love to add you to a list today but are being cautious not to overextend and provide real timelines. Hopefully that answers some questions:) So the end of Q1 hopefully an announcement will come" Quote
Echnate Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Does anyone know if the undershirt is the same for the Tank trooper? The kits are the same, I ordered a set of armor from 850 and am trying to find the correct undershirt to go with. Considering the cost I don't want to have to get a different one if they are not the same. Thank you. Quote
syllander Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Jim Tripon makes one in black for the tank trooper. Quote
PropReplicator2 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 It would be awesome if someone could post a sewing tutorial here on the forums over making this under suit.... Quote
PredatorMV Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Just as a heads up, the mesh material on the undersuit is only on the front side of the arm pit and only a small portion of it. On the back it has horizontal ribs like the arms. The vertical ribs only appear at the upper chest area where they show around the neck hole. Quote

Thanks for the info, I've been doing my research to see if it would be possible to sew one of these up for myself... You don't think there' a chance you could do a little diagram up showing how much mesh fabric there should be on the shirt? Quote
