TheDon
For those looking to go the next level and have screen accurate boots the boots you seek are Orca Bay Brecon (its a chelsea style boot, a favorite of the empire apparently) Color is up debate since the available colors are: Black, Havana, Sand, and Elk. Orca Bay posted on Facebook that "Sand" was the official color used in the movie. However, until I see an invoice from the costuming house that made the ST it is up to debate because the boots are heavily used and abused. Color Acceptable colors are any of them, except black. I personally bought a pair in Havana. With some light weathering it should be fine. Boot Vendors LHCO.co.UK (lead time here is very long, I have been waiting since July 26th) Ardmoor.co.uk (lead time depends on boot availability, I ordered a second pair of boots since my LHCO order is still in limbo and I received the boots in 3 days from the UK. I would reccomend this seller over LHCO) Orcabay.co.uk can show you a list of dealers within Europe. I was supposed to go to a shop outside London after SWCE and pickup a pair of boots but I ran into logistical issues. Price Expect to pay around $150 shipped from the UK if they are not on sale. I believe I got my boots from LHCO for around 89 GBP plus 30 GBP shipping. Ardmoor was around $140 shipped to the US
Work
I had a good experience with Ardmoor. I ordered with one other person and split the shipping cost, came out to about $130 each at the time. Shipping was pretty fast. I did order them pretty quickly around celebration when they were readily available so the experience may be a bit different now. Hard to say. Nacho
Ordered these in Havana from Ardmoor months ago. I am skeptical about them being sand. Whichever color you choose (other than black) , It will all come down to proper weathering.
Nexous
Same, ordered from Ardmoor months ago and received in their Havana. Quick and pricey shipping, but that was expected coming from the UK
TheDon
I will say these are the most expensive foot prisons I have ever ordered. But they are very comfortable and the leather is super supple. I kind of do not want to ruin them while weathering.
Work
Yeah its been super painful scuffing them up. The shin armor does a number on them when you're trooping too. I'd like a second pair just to wear around. I wore them one night walking around dragoncon for a few hours straight. Quite comfy.
SimpleJedi
Got sand guys and trust me after beating it up and scratching them up they get darker and look pretty close to the ref pics. They kinda have a darker base layer.
Obey Wann
I'm going to need something with a better shipping time. I'll have cash for them next week. I just need an approveable boot here before the premiere. Preferably in the US and with wide sizes.
Nexous
A guy in this one build group I am in purchased Timberland Chelsea Boots because he has some really large feet, not 100% what the LMO decision on those will be since they do have a logo imprinted on the bottom and the design isn't exactly the same. "timberland chelsea boots" is what I looked up on Amazon. Timberlands Orca Bay
TheDon
Base level approval should not require the orca bay boots and I think with the limited size availability it really shouldn't make or break a level 2 approval in my opinion since you can't help it if your feet are larger or smaller than the screen used boot.
Nexous
Yeah, I am 99% positive Orca's (or replicas?) are going to be Level 2 and higher.
BikerScout007
Yeah, I am 99% positive Orca's (or replicas?) are going to be Level 2 and higher. And them Wang Gang boots are level 3, right?
Nexous
And them Wang Gang boots are level 3, right? Hopefully Wang Gang offers up armor too, their stuff is cheap and 100% accurate
netslave
This one in Brown (or tan), weathered and scuffed up, should work as well. https://www.amazon.c.../dp/B00OYFJH2Y/

TheDon
Yeah, I am 99% positive Orca's (or replicas?) are going to be Level 2 and higher. What I am saying is if someone has feet that are too big or too small for what OB offers they should not be disqualified from level 2 or higher because of a physical limitation that they have no control over. Kind of like how we have short vaders or tall jawas. You can still have a level 3 approvalable vader because the 501st doesn't discriminate on height or physical characteristics. I believe that's an absolutely fair point. Discrimination or alienation of any member is absolutely not the goal of the higher level stuff. TheDon
Plus these Orca Bay boots might not be made for ever so there might be some validity to not making them a make or break for L2 but if you're super hardcore approval then make it for L3
BikerScout007
Good points. Although I should add that tradition here at the Pathfinders is to only have 2 levels. Not sure if we will have a Level 3. So just keep that in mind!
OBXRogue
Can anyone tell me if the orca bays break in to give more room around the toes? My first pair arrived and felt a bit tight so I ordered the next size up. I would not mind having two pair if they will break in. Otherwise I may have a pair that needs a new home. Not sure if we will have a Level 3. So just keep that in mind! I come from the land of sand troopers and MEPD has 3 levels which is nuts. I'm base level all day with my sandy. But my shore trooper is going all the way
