Cummerbund attachment

Recommended Posts

With the new Lancer standards having the following (optional) point

- Two Part bund/cod with cod section not attached to the main bund. Optional but highly recommended

How are people attaching the top part of their cod? Do they attach it to the belt or flight suit or are people attaching it via velcro to underneath the cummerbund at the bottom?

He's talking 2 pieces, guys. So they wouldnt be attached to the bund at all.

The screen scout cod pieces were sewn to the bottom of the vest and that's how Max's Sci Fi does them

Mine is attached by velcro to my flight suit.

I didn't know that's how the on screen ones were done. Looks like I'll be going to Max for my vest / cod then :D

I have mine attached with velcro to the vest. I cheated a little by just "unattaching" it from the bund and sewing a (probably) 8 inch wide panel together, which I then sewed to the cod top and then attach that with velcro to the vest. The "thong" strap has a buckle clip on the elastic and the other part of the clip is attached to a short strap sewn to the back of the vest. The buckle is then hidden behind the bund.

Whoa! You're going for extreme accuracy points! Good job :)

Kevin, can you post a picture of that set up? It sounds like the buckle would squish certain areas when you sit.

Eh, doubt it was done my way, but it looks the part and doesn't pull my bund down when I move!

Not at all! The buckle is in the middle of my back, behind the bund. It sits kind of in the small of my back, I guess. Never feel it!

Below are front/back shots I just took. I just finished making a repair or three, so please excuse the stray threads!

FRONT Hopefully you can see my cheesy "extension" panel. If I were to make another cod (sure hope I don't have to!), I'd make it long enough to directly attach to the vest. I used velcro in case I want to separate it for washing.

BACK You can see where the buckle hangs out. I can easily reach it to clip/un-clip. My vest fits well enough that I can leave the back velcroed and just slip it on like a (half) T-shirt.
