shenphong Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I've been cataloguing my Scout (TB) build for 501st entry for the past few months and today, finally submitted my application shots. I'll be adding my photos and wip shortly to the thread but would like to begin it with my submission photos along with photos "just for fun" with my DLT-19. Please excuse the wampa wear tag on my glove, gotta photoshop that out! Breakdown of items: Armor: Studiocreations (SC) Helmet: SC Gloves: Wampawear Body Suit: Redkap with mods Flak Vest: T-shirt stitched up Boots: Target workboots with marine vinyl Weapons: HFX (Hyperfirm) I will be providing details shortly as to how items were made and basic cost soon for those interested. 1
Strider Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Looks good so far. The biggest 'issue' I see at the moment are the pants (a little too baggy) and the straps around the thigh patches which should be more tighter. Otherwise good job! Cheers
shenphong Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 Thanks, tucking in the pants into the boots more would actually "tighten" up the look of it more, we're going to sew elastic on the ends of the pants so that when I wear them, I pull it down as well instead of letting it bunch up at the top like that.
Stroker Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Also the drop box webbing the way they meet in the back it almost looks like they're a top one another. Nothing that's gonna ding you at basic, but at Lancer it would need to corrected.
shenphong Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 good catch! The webbing in the back for the drop boxes are actually mixed around and need a few fixes. They currently are just pinned in place. You can say I wanted to rush into getting it done and submitted then finalize it later since I plan to disassemble, weather and then reassemble.
Canterbury Tail Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Just looking at the codpiece. Should the stitching not be curved per the CRL rather than an pointed arrow shape? Other than that it looks amazing.
Torm Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 Looks great . I do think I see your Wampawear name tho .
khazara Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Looking good! It's fun to troop with the DLT-19 - on short troops anyway. I added a scope to mine so that it approximated the sniper look from the games. I wanted to point out that your boots seem to be a little tall. There should be an inch or two between the knee armor and the top of the boots, but in some pics (like the one in the post above) it seems the knees are actually overlapping your boot shaft. But it's only in some pics so maybe the knees slipped down. Adding the Lancer detail of a second elastic strap attached with rivets might help with that. And this won't affect approval but you might want to round the corners of your bicep armor pieces and the last boxes at the ends of the belt. The sharp edges will cut/wear into your undersuit. Good job overall!
rasman06 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 Good job man!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Hobenator Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Looks awesome! I'm thinking of doing a scout but I'm taking my time doing all the research into it. Seems a lot easier to assemble then full armour lots.
Jetsi Posted December 14, 2016 Posted December 14, 2016 I think it looks great but I have just started my research into this project so I don't have quite the critical eye yet. Any update on the status of your application yet?
frozeneli Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Looks good! I am also just getting started and these pics are very helpful
