K@nne
Hey Biker and Bikerella´s yesterday I started with my new project. My wife´s Snow Scout is finished and approved, so I have time to start with a Biker Scout for myself. After a photo shooting and several great discussions with my mates of the "Wolfpack" I decided to build a Scout too. With the support of my friends I try to reach the Lancer level near future thx in advance to my buddies of the "Wolfpack" for their suppor. And here we go, already strated with the flight suit. For the base I use a Helly Hansen workwear coverall I will modify. First step, removing all visible pockets, snaps.... It tooks me an hour to remove the stitchery on the left arm But now it is gone and I am happy with that. Next step, was to add the mandarin collar to the suit. Therefor I used on of the removed pockets. Now I have to wait until the black leather for the patches and the mudflap will arrive. Also waoting on the 2" black elastic and the remaining strapping material. At the moment I am having a cold and could not go out in the gym. So I used yesterday evening to start with the Kummerbund. But I think I will make a nother one in a lighter white. After sewing I compared it to a friends Kummerbund and mine is more a offwhite than a pure white. What do you think? Making another one or ok? Add some padding to the "sleeve" before I close it. I made 6 stitching lines as mentioned in the CRL´s Today I planned to work on the Codpiece and maybe I will go to our local farbic store to get another white fabric for the Kummerbund. stay tuned Cheers Chris

kayelbe
My version 1 had the same issue...it looked pretty good until I put it up against a "real" white fabric. Tossed it and started version 2. Version 3, and final iteration, has a foam padding instead of the batting. I gave #2 a wash after noticing some fingerprint/stains. All the batting migrated to the velcro ends, leaving messy, unrepairable lumps. Might have been my technique and not typical, but the foam worked much better. K@nne
Hi folks, had some time and some spare material lying around. So I tried to make the flap out of that. It is ok, but I think I will rework it a bit when I have the armor here. I decket to add velcro to the suit and the flap to remove it if necessary.
K@nne
What to do on a saturday evening? Made my flak vest. For the vest I used some black "heavy" cotton fabric . Preparing the sleeves first. After cutting all parts, I started to sew all parts together. And here it is, not perfect but for the first time I quite happy with it.
