THUNDERCAT Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Hey guys, I found several British camo sets was wondering which would be the best to go with? British Desert BDU Sets. Bally Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I think I'm geoblocked or something but from the split second I've seen of each, 1 or 3. 1
THUNDERCAT Posted August 28, 2016 Author Posted August 28, 2016 I think 1 and 3 are the same product just different business's they are both Nylon and Cotton AU 72.38 for a set. If its Nylon does that matter much when dying the colours?
THUNDERCAT Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 That's Link 3 I inputted into the search British BDU, British camo in Aliexpress. 1
HAVOC28 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Links 1 & 3 have the correct pattern and colors. The tan/brown in Link 4 looks too dark (might just be lighting though). Link 2 is the wrong pattern (that's Desert Tiger Stripe rather than Desert DPM). I'm not sure how the nylon affects dyeing (hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in), but 100% cotton would definitely be better if you can even find it. I've had difficulty locating 100% cotton here in the US too, fwiw.
THUNDERCAT Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 Thanks HAVOC28 apparently there are pol/cotton dyes. There is another Kashyyyk in my squad I am going to attempt to follow his procedures with the dye see if I can get mine close colour to his I considering Link 1 or 3 as well. Oh and I have also found a prop business that does the Kashyyk soft and hard armor parts to if your interested I can shoot you a pm with the details. 1

I'm always looking for new sources for Kashyyyk parts now that I've started budgeting to build one.
THUNDERCAT Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 Ok sweet I just sent the link from what I understand if you wanted he can do the whole thing for you lol for a price of course.

If it's cotton, that is the better material for the dye. The nylon is NOT recommended. It's a severe pain! Plus, you'll have to remove all of that Velcro pocket stuff on the sleeves. I understand it's for the military, but not the Kashyyyk. We have 18 pouches to put stuff in. Why have pockets? Who's your Squad mate? Fish? (James Wallis) He's a good guy. Nice Kashyyyk. I replied to your pm. Contact "gasmonkey" here on BSN for cummerbunds and pouches. (Curious as to who the prop business is.) Cheers!
THUNDERCAT Posted August 31, 2016 Author Posted August 31, 2016 Thanks heaps Matt, link 1 it is then so hard finding a set of British desert camo but not impossible Yep James and I are in the same squad (Knightfall) I might ask James for some help I haven't asked yet though I want to do as much as I can first before asking, got heaps of research to do still but I definitely hit him up soon I can see the lower leg armor parts are going to be challenging. Thanks for the PM got the message
