ScumandVillainy Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 I'm working on my boots and want to make sure I get this right. The CRL says the boot calf should come up just under the knee armor. I have looked at tons of pictures and I'm still not sure where it should be. Should it look more like this or this? I appreciate any wisdom you can impart!
Stroker Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 The first is close, but I take it up just a bit more. The second picture those are way to short. Take a gander at this http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?app=gallery&image=381 1
Forest Ranger Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 The first picture is about where my knee armor sits, I wouldn't go up much more than that.
ScumandVillainy Posted August 6, 2016 Author Posted August 6, 2016 Ok, great. I was thrown off by pictures like this. Even though its from the back you can imagine where it sits in the front. It looks like a decent gap. I will go with your recommendations. It does seem to match most of the pictures. Thank you so much for your help.
Bobik96 Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 I can't tell from your photos but be cautious of making them too tight. Look at your side profile and make sure the profile of your hiking boots aren't showing too much. My first attempt I made them too tight.
ScumandVillainy Posted August 6, 2016 Author Posted August 6, 2016 Yep. The ones in the picture are definitely too tight. I measured with my suit on and gave a little extra room and still too tight. Since I have to redo them anyway, I thought this would be a good time to check on height.
Stroker Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Also the boots weren't super loose like some tend to say. The picture I posted above shows about how tight/loose the boot top should be. 1
