TB_71784 - 'BlitzJaeger' Lancer Application (APPROVED)

Recommended Posts

Well here we go finally! Mickey knows I have been bugging him to death about Lancer status since I joined almost 3 months ago - needless to say I am very proud to be ready to apply!

Name - Chase Gray

Alias - BlitzJaeger 'Blitz'

TK ID - 71784

Garrison - Midsouth Garrison

Height - 5'6''

Weight - 125lbs.

Gear-

Helmet - KropSerkel, FAC/MC Snout Greebly and Decals, Proper Bolts

Armor - Studio Creations

Flight Suit - Self Made

Flak Vest - Self Made

Cummerbund - Self Made

Pouches - Self made

Gloves - Wampa Wear

Boots - Chrisx909x w/ heel and sole mods by me.

Blaster - Hyperfirm HFx

Two notes I will add, is that the cod piece was recently remade to be more movie accurate in shape, and still may be a bit large, but it is being tailored a bit smaller to fit better this week. Secondly, I realize the drop boxes may need to come up a little higher still, I have tried to adjust this several times but having such a small waist makes things very challenging belt wise - working on it!

Alright buddy, here goes:

1) The codpiece is not working for you. You need something more proportionate to your body. Also the arc needs to start where the final taper begins, like this:

2014-10-28221117_zpsd980b1fa.jpg

2) Side straps should 1.5 inch cotton webbing. Yes I know it says a million different things but they should be the same as your dropbox straps

3) Your suede thigh pattern is not symmetrical. The left leg one is shorter than the right

4) Dropboxes could stand to be a little closer to the belt.

5) The dogbones need to be glued down. They seem to be sticking up in the centers

6) Shoulder bells should sit closer to the shoulder bridges on your chest armor. You may need to shorten the zipties. And make sure they are connected well. It looks like the ziptie is not connected to shoulder tab as well as it could be. This could also be because the shoulder bell is sitting too far down.

I know seems like a lot but you actually did a really great job with this.

As I mentioned the Cod is already being remade this week, so call that WIP...

2) Side straps should 1.5 inch cotton webbing. Yes I know it says a million different things but they should be the same as your dropbox straps

Also as mentioned, confusing, but Retrofire has that on the way now, easy fix.

3) Your suede thigh pattern is not symmetrical. The left leg one is shorter than the right

The suit was sitting weird, will take new pictures, it is symmetrical.

4) Dropboxes could stand to be a little closer to the belt.

Will shorten them, I already knew they were too long.

5) The dogbones need to be glued down. They seem to be sticking up in the centers

This I didnt see, but I can fix it easy enough.

6) Shoulder bells should sit closer to the shoulder bridges on your chest armor. You may need to shorten the zipties. And make sure they are connected well. It looks like the ziptie is not connected to shoulder tab as well as it could be. This could also be because the shoulder bell is sitting too far down.

I had planned to use velcro on the insides of the bells to hold them higher, I will add that and adjust as needed.

I know seems like a lot but you actually did a really great job with this.

Nothing I cant comply with, you know how bad I want this! ;) Updates to follow, new prop party Sunday, will take fresh pics for you! Thanks Mickey.

Ok! Here are my updates:

1) Codpiece - modified to match references from movie. (The arc will be redone a 3rd time to be skinnier as requested -Mark that bit WIP)

2) Side straps - Are now 1.5 inch cotton webbing. Identical to Dropbox webbing. [Thanks to Peter aka Retrofire for rush delivery!]

3) Suede - Better picture to show that was just odd lighting, you can see here it is correct.

4) Drop boxes - Now closer to the belt as promised.

5) Boot dog bones - Glued down all the way around and not sticking up.

6a) Shoulder bells - Closer to the chest bridge and higher on shoulder.

6b) Zip Ties - Shortened and connected via anchors.

Other changes:

Belt - completely remade to fit better

Pouches - now have box liners

Attitude - Still 100% pumped to be a Scout 7 days a week

New Pictures to reflect changes (also added on original post):

Great! Post the codpiece when you've fixed the gap

Fixed the width of the arc to 1/4 in gap. Just need to hand wash to remove the old creases, but otherwise all set! (Thanks to Stephanie/LegitCupcake for quck turn around)

Update:

I remade the shoulder bridge joins as (sorta) requested. Snaps were cut out and replaced with Velcro, and the overlap plastic was cut from both ends. New connection totally hidden under bridge cover material.
