Erik R
Hello! I'm a 19 year old engineering-turned-economics student currently attending the University of Nevada, Reno, and I want to be a TB. I'm an unoffical member of the MMCC with a completed kit, I'm just avoiding the current situation with the clans in my area. I've wanted to be a TK for years, and I finally decided I'd buy the Anovos kit when I saw they had it for $450. So I got a job and made the money I'd need to buy the kit. Then, browsing TDH, I saw a pair of accurate scout gloves for super cheap that would fit me, so I bought them and decided I was going to be a TB because they're LOADS cooler! Anyway, that's where I'm at right now. All I'm looking for is the best bang for buck armor kit, and I'll just make the rest of the soft parts myself. Here's a few pics of my mando:
Dmorja
Welcome Erik, it's nice to see another Sactown future scout. I remember you from that game in your pics. This is a great place to hang out and learn all you need. Feel free to post questions we will all join in and help.

Erik R
I do have a quick question, though. I have seen this site a few times: [edited to remove link, it was SC] but over the years I have been taught to be very wary of armor makers that are the first hit on Google. I haven't snooped much, but I didn't see any mention of them on here. I only see KS and FC. I sorta expected a big DO NOT BUY FROM type thing about this site but I didn't see that either. Any info on these guys? They seem very affordable, which is nice.

Yes SC is a good vendor super short wait time most scouts us them. Stay away from KS their scout armor is a mess. Farawaycreations is MC yes they have nice stuff I have their snowy and scout but would prefer you to buy elsewhere.

Dart
Welcome aboard! To echo the above, SC is a very nice quality kit, arrives in a decent amount of time and doesn't break the bank. The only down-side is the helmet. It's a decent helmet, just a bit soft on the details. Thankfully, there are several options for helmets out there. Anyway, make sure you read as much as you can. Ask whatever questions you can't find the answers to. Have fun!
Nexous
As mentioned above, SC is a great choice for armor.... I will also agree with Dart, the helmet isn't really on the side of accurate. If possible get the armor and purchase a different helmet, maybe an Altman? If budget is an issue as it was for me at the time, the SC helmet will still look great put together! Erik R
Thanks for the replies everybody! I'm glad I consulted this site first, because Kropserkel's $285 price tag for the untrimmed kit is super enticing!
Nexous
There should be a real value to that with the added work + replacements

Farawaycreations is MC yes they have nice stuff I have their snowy and scout but would prefer you to buy elsewhere. Sounds good! However, I am a student and with that, I have a bit of an extreme sense of frugality. Really not a good time to try to become a TB, but would KS satisfy my want to be one? Ultimately, would the layman see a KS kit and think "Hey, that looks like a Scout Trooper"? I understand this is a relatively inexpensive hobby compared to say, skydiving, but currently a burger at In'n'Out is expensive to me! I have a little disposable income and I'd like to spend it as best I can. Would it be worth spending the extra $200 for the SC kit over the KS? I have a good amount of experience with ABS vacuum formed parts, as I used to vacu-form myself and over the years I've added ABS parts to my Mando. So if KS is unfixably awful, essentially the Rubies Boba Fett of Biker Scouts, then I'll definitely go with SC! Otherwise, I don't think I'd mind performing modification and upgrade over a long period of time, as that is currently my most abundant commodity! Thanks again for all the advice guys, really appreciate it!
