Helmet Fan Setup

I should be receiving my helmet kit this Thursday 7/7 from SC. I've seen some fan setups but mostly in the Stormtrooper helmet. I'd like to get some advice or reference on some ways to setup fans in a Scout helmet.

I personally don't use fans in my helmet. There seems to be better airflow than a stormy bucket.

I troop in Phoenix, btw, and I'm WAY more concerned about the layers of soft armor heating me up than the helmet.

I put fans in my Scout bucket as I was experiencing some fogging of the lenses. While there isn't as much room in the Scout bucket as the TK it can be done. I had to put the fans hear my temples as that was pretty much the only place I could put them after trying a few different spots. The downside to this is it will decrease your ability to hear things. I can still hear but not as well as I can in my TK. I had to place the battery box at the base of my skull in the very back where the "tube" run around the back. I went with this setup as I didn't have the time to wire up some fans myself:

I hope this helps.

I'd hold off until you've actually trooped in the helmet. You may find you don't need the fans. They knew what they were doing when they designed this lid for ROTJ. You get really good airflow due to the earholes and the raised portion that goes around the back. Not to mention that if you REALLY need a breath of air you need only lift up the faceplate!

I just finished wiring a set of fans for a Boushh helmet Ive done up for my wife. When we ordered the squirrel fans i tried just playing with a set in my helmet, like everyone says - don't waste the time, or cash. No room, lots of flow anyways, and deafening. I trooped a 35+ day last week for 4 hours on a landing strip at an airforce base.... No fog, stayed lovely compared to the Phasma and TK's that were there.

I've definitely gone 6-8 hours at conventions before and my head never heats up, as most mention it's the layers that'll eat you up.

For me it's that band where my bund and vest overlap under the chest armor. I have to say I almost wish they didn't add the vest to the ROTJ scouts. ^_^
