Constructive Criticism to help with details on sole cuts

Recommended Posts

So, I'm trying to build for Lancer specs, and I just finished the cuts on my soles. I still have to clean them out a little, but before I do, I thought I'd get as many opinions as possible, so I don't have to do it twice. Let me know what you think...

Looks good. I used the same boot (as did many others here). Wasn't nearly as hard to make the cuts as I had feared.

Thanks guys! I was really taking that part slow and careful, as its too easy to screw up, and possibly lose a fingertip at the same time!

The cuts look good. Very scouty. Nice work! :D

One thing I'll mention, the cuts on the original boots were not really deep. We're talking 1/16" deep. I can appreciate your effort, because I've done the same thing years ago, but for everyone still getting to this point, go easy on yourselves. ;)

I don't remember the name... But they are at Kmart for $19 a pair. Really good deal!

I have the same base boots. "Texas Steer" is the name, but they may have regional branding as I've seen some troopers use the exact same boots from Kmart, but with a different name. It seems like it's always a southwest, rancher type name though.
