docraven
I just completed my TIE Pilot and am looking for another set of something I can wear with glasses underneath (Contacts unfortunatly don't work for me and I'm basically blind without glasses). Does anyone have experience with glasses under a Scout Helmet? Do they fit? I'm not too worried about fogging, as there are solutions to that. Stroker
Theres a few helmets around that are big enough to accommodate your glass's. I wear glass but I pop in the contacts before a troop or con.
Retrofire
Hi Florian. Whichever helmet you go with you'll have to make sure the faceplate opens to get your glasses on. I have a KS and an Altmann's and I can't put on my glasses then try to put my lid on over my head. The scout buckets just don't have the clearance the Stormtrooper buckets do. I've seen other Scouts wearing glasses in the SC bucket too so I think you'll be fine with most of the helmet selections. Just make sure the faceplate opens so you can get your specs on. Hope that helps.

Thanks, but I can't wear standard contacts for more than a few minutes before I get either a massive headache (due to cornea irregularities) and my eyes react badly to the hard ones I would need. Honestly I think it comes down to your head and your glasses. Several people in my group wear glasses with out helmets and some cannot, so it really is just shape of head and which helmet. Both myself and some other guys wear glasses under our lids and I have a KS and they have an Altmanns and a SC. Several of my 501 friends have worn my helmet with glasses as well, and only 1 couldnt. So I am not trying to discredit what Retro said, but think it is just more of a person to person thing than a blanket yes or no....so I would say if you can, try and find some local guys and try on their helmets!!
Smiling Fox
You might also consider sports glasses or (what we called in the military) ranger glasses. These have a strap instead of ear pieces and fit closer to your face so you can wear a helmet.
stasz
You might also consider sports glasses or (what we called in the military) ranger glasses. These have a strap instead of ear pieces and fit closer to your face so you can wear a helmet. I can wear my glasses uncomfortably in my KS. I usually slip it though. As Fox says, sports glasses might work great. Think of swimming goggles. They hold tight to your face, and are low profile. Should be able to inquire with your eye doctor about getting them. I work in a chemical plant and have to wear monogoggles all day over my glasses, but they also make these prescription goggle inserts that I've often thought of converting to use in my bucket. They clip inside the goggles and hang just away from your face. Like glasses with no ear pieces.
BikerScout007
I can't do it with my RS props lid, or my KS before that. But it could be because of my big head! It's not much of a problem on a troop because I am farsighted, but it's impossible for me to read anything without them.

bugdozer
I have a Chef helmet, and I find that my regular glasses don't fit under it, but my smaller spare pair fit fine. Although I'm OK with contacts, so after my first troop wearing glasses, I have just been using those. I didn't have any fogging issues with the glasses. BlitzJaeger
Not sure how much it will help you or even if everyone here agrees but I have seen that in person guys under 6 feet seem to look better in the slightly smaller helmets like KS and SC and larger guys like 6 and up seem to look good in Cucblack, Altmans, RC etc...Ive never seen Chefs in person, but he makes good stuff too I am told. Maybe that helps you.

Eyeslave
I have a LW lid and can wear glasses comfortable. They are a spare pair I have and are small & tidy in style. You would probably need to have an opening faceplate. I was never able to wear glasses in my Sandtrooper lid, nor the royal guard or Snowtrooper. So I am glad I found something that worked. But as others have said, it probably depends on lid & head size.
Bubonos
I dont wear eye glasses but sun glasses fit under my sc bucket. I wear dark safety glasses so they are bigger than most glasses.
MrJuc
Ive worn glasses under my helmet before without it being a issue. if your glasses touch the front of the faceplate then you can simply apply padding or foam which would push your head back allowing a space between your lid and your glasses. TanRu
Hey docraven, curious what helmet you ended up going with. I'm in kind of the same boat. I'm on the small side (5'8") so I'd rather not go with a big helmet if I don't have to.
