CoffeeBlack762
Hey, everybody! I'm a first timer trying to decide on a helmet and was wondering if anybody owned both or had pictures showing the size difference between the SC and some of the other popular options currently available. I know they are supposed to be 10% smaller but it's hard to visually quantify that for me. I'm 5'11" 210lbs and wear a medium to large motorcycle helmet. BikerScout007
Just found the helmet thread... =) Cool, I was just about to point you there. SC is one of the smaller helmets and I think it really only looks good on scouts of smaller stature.
CoffeeBlack762
Yeah, I'm currently in comms with Brenda from KS. Now I just need to figure out if I should get the armor, cummerbund and scout pistol from KS as well. It seems like they take longer to ship out than SC, and I've only been on the forum for a day and I've seen reference of poor customer service from KS so I need to research more before I pull the trigger. CoffeeBlack762
As far as quality goes is there any real difference between KS and SC? If I buy the helmet from KS and armor from SC do I have to worry about the ABS color matching or does each company use the same materials? The scout armor it's self is way over sized and inaccurate. You'll be better with SC short wait time on SC end less than 2 weeks. Also the colors of the plastic might be close but will not match. I'd stick with one vendor.

Listen to the Armourer......go with SC they are top notch and their customer service can't be beat. You can find threads for the cummerbund and pistol on the trade forum. CoffeeBlack762
Thanks, guys. I'll scratch KS off the list. My only concern with SC helmet is the size. I was thinking about an Altmann and pm'd Spike but have yet to hear back. From what I'm reading that helmet seems damn near perfect for me. Hopefully if I do get one the color will match with my SC armor, otherwise I guess I can try my hand at weathering to make it all blend together. Dmorja
Hi Robert and welcome. Altmann's Helmet is terrific especially if you have a larger hat size. He hand crafts them himself so it will take longer to receive but it is well worth the wait in my opinion.
Torm
Hey Robert í ½í¸€ . I had my SC armor in about 6 or 7 working days . And I love it . You will find most scouts I see here on the forum have a SC armor build with a Altmanns helm í ½í¸€

There is nothing wrong with mixing and matching!
CoffeeBlack762
I have to say getting into this was intimidating at first but this community has been extremely helpful! It's nice to know I have this forum as a resource when I start building.
Retrofire
I have to say getting into this was intimidating at first but this community has been extremely helpful! It's nice to know I have this forum as a resource when I start building. We're a close knit community here and we love doing what we do and the Pathfinder armor. You're not alone my friend. If you have a question post up and there are a host of folks who will be here to answer. I know I felt that way when I started and I couldn't have done it without these fine folks here. That's what we're all about. Not sure if you're plugged in to the Florida Garrison but if you haven't had the chance I would encourage you to get onto to their forum and introduce yourself. There is also a new program that started by the Command Staff this year called the Advanced Recon Teams (ART). Each garrison is allotted one and that group exists to foster the Pathfinder armor and help get behind those working on a build to make it the best it can be. That's another resource available to you as well.
