Forest Ranger Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Looks good. It appears that the belt needs to come down a alittle, it's riding up under your pouches from the pictures. TD looks a little off to the side on positioning. The drop boxes could come up more as well (they look longer on the front a tad). Not sure the rank stripes on the holster are correct for clearance though. You're almost there!
Smiling Fox Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Your belt should be ok but try bringing your belt boxes up a bit. They also need to move forward as they are riding too far back. Some good full body side photos would help here. I'm not sure about the flak jacket sleeves, they look a bit long to me but someone else can probably weigh in on that. As Cheyenne said, the rank stripes don't belong on the holster. I know some kits come with them but that is a no go. You might also check the shoulder bridges, they look uneven. It looks like the one on the right (facing us) is a bit long. It might just be the way they are positioned though. All in all, not bad. You aren't far off.
Whiskey Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Looks pretty good Just like the others mentioned. Also, you should position the biceps armor facing the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock position. 1
BikerScout007 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Belt height is fine -- DONT MOVE THAT BELT Your vest sleeves are a touch too long Legs are really baggy. Maybe put some stirrups around the bottom of your pants legs to help pull them down more into your boot. Take the stripes off the holster I agree dropboxes are hanging a touch too low. Whiskey Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 From the costumes book: Not to hijack this thread, but I'm sure this was probably discussed in another thread. Is the chest armor two pieces? 1
BikerScout007 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Not to hijack this thread, but I'm sure this was probably discussed in another thread. Is the chest armor two pieces? It looks very much like it was built in two separate pieces and then bondoed together doesn't it? 1
Retrofire Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 That's what our XO teaches us. 1.) Watch the movie. 2.) Watch the movie. 3.) Watch the movie. and when in doubt from the first three watch the movie again 2
M.J Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Dan, I fold my pants into my socks..(long socks) so they don't ride up! forgot to tell you. 1
THUNDERCAT Posted June 8, 2016 Author Posted June 8, 2016 Thanks heaps everyone, made the adjustments took 2 attempts on the third I passed! now I am officially part of the 501st TB family :-)
DesertScout Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 All of these posts are really helpful to me when I am in the process of starting a new costume. Hopefully the guys from DRG can help me get going! Looks good! Congrats on clearance! 1
Chef Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Not to hijack this thread, but I'm sure this was probably discussed in another thread. Is the chest armor two pieces? It's actually more likely to be a crack. No doubt the armour has been bent laterally as part of filming and cracked at the weak spot of the two indents on the chest, the small notch at the bottom and the indent between the verticals on the top. You can see that it's not 'straight', and if it was a two half join it would have split nicely along the seam as that is the natural weak spot, and most likely cracked along its full length, and not just a small section of it. Well done on your clearance Dan.

Well done on your clearance Dan. Hmmm....It could be a stunt suit. -Han flips one -Chewie blows up the escaping trooper -luke thows against the tree from the speeder -leia shoots the trooper who's supposed to "take her back to base" -etc
