TheBeardPrevails
So I'm just about done, love need to glue the top and dogbone to the boots and attach the holster. I feel good about it except the boot tred I made.... one side I pretty ugly (used a dremel) and the other side is better but not too even (used an exacto) I don't plan to use these boots to get Lancer, I'll make new boots in a year or two. Any thoughts on how they're looking so far?
Retrofire
The vinyl is looking good! The cuts are a little deep but I don't see any problem with a basic approval. Maybe just clean up the excess adhesive around that left boot toe area. It's a learning experience for us all so don't get discouraged. One other tip is that for Lancer you'll need a single tone boot sole so these wouldn't make approval. It's good that you are thinking ahead. I would suggest taking a look at the Lancer specs and work towards building your armor to them as it's harder to upgrade it after it's built than to build it in on the first go around. We're here to help you so give a shout out when you have any questions.
TheBeardPrevails
My boots being 2-toned is way I knew I'd be mak8ng another pair.... thoes were on sale for $20 so I couldn't pass. Plus I bought enough vinyl to make another pair, next time I'll cut them evenly and not so deep. Thanks for the advice!
Chunk
Why don't you just paint the soles with acrylic paint. You can find it at Walmart or any hobby shop for under $2.00 Other than the glue coming up from the toe strip, they look fine. Acrylic paint will flex & bend & will not flak off.
