Caradog08
Hello all, I am new to all of this but after a lot of research I've decided I want my first build to be a biker scout. I found an armor/helmet kit on the SC website, however I was wondering if anyone knew of any other quality kits that are a little less expensive? I don't want to go and drop over $800 for my first build unless I can't find anything else. Thank you May the Force be With You
Retrofire
Welcome to the BS.N forest Shane! This is the place for all thing Pathfinder. You've made a great choice as the Scout is awesome! It sounds like you've been doing your homework and that's good. SC is an excellent kit at a really good price and you can't go wrong there. There are a couple of other makers that I can PM you but they will most likely be in the same price range but it will give you some other options to look at. I would also invite you to reach out to your local garrison. Seeing that you are in NC that would be the Carolina Garrison and their website is www.carolinagarrison.net. You'll need a minimum of five posts to access the trade forum so head out into the forum and look around and introduce yourself. We're here to help so let us know what we can do to assist you on your journey.
Caradog08
Thank you very much for the quick reply, I appreciate it. Currently I am just waiting for the funds to start the project but I'm super excited nonetheless. I started a GoFundMe page because why not? Never know until you try. BlitzJaeger
Welcome bush dodger! Unfortunately the truth is, it will be very difficult to keep a full build under $800... Hard armor parts are going to eat up half that budget from the start, and helmets can be in the $300 range built, so if you need to stay under that limit you are going to need to do a lot of building yourself, including the boots which run $150-$200 depending on the maker. Gloves are $60 from Wampa Wear and a Blaster is anywhere from $50-$100 depeding on which you get. This doesnt include the cost of materials to build some parts, or your flight suit ($30 unmodded, $145+ modded), bund (~$100) and pouches (~$40). Which you will want to sew yourself most likely if you are sticking to a budget strictly. Not trying to scare you away from the build by any means though, I believe if you have the will and motivation you can do it, but it will take some work on your part. I think it is important to know going into this however, what the real world costs usually are. At any rate, your most valuable asset is THIS SITE. People on here are more than eager to help and answer any questions, which is a good idea to do before spending money or trying to build things without any guidance. Hope you decide to squeeze the trigger and join us!

Caradog08
What would be the best way to go about getting the gloves? I can sew the rest of the soft parts. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
BlitzJaeger
Wampa Wear sells gloves on their site and on eBay.
