Knee rivet color

Can someone please confirm the correct rivet color for the knee armor? The CRL on 501st.com says it is silver, but the Lancer standards on BSN say it is white.

 

Which one should I go by?

 

Recommend someone make the correction on whichever one is wrong, to avoid confusion... thanks!!

I believe the 2015 Update on the boards should be more accurate than the one on the 501st CRL Website

Shoot for Lancer! The only silver rivet is the bottom one on the tank I believe.

I think that's one of the items that Chex mentioned the command staff was going to address this year. Anyway, I've been told to use the requirements here on BS.N by the Lancers and not the 501st version. It takes longer to get that one updated as it has to go through the Legion offices and not the detachment. The outboard rivet should be painted white. I used Testor's white.

It IS, quite honestly, very frustrating, because most people will turn to the CRL and it is wrong...

 

So the correct answer is White knees, silver belt, silver holster. Because working toward a Lancer build is hard when there are conflicting answers! Lol

Yeah, I was also misled by this. The CRL here (Pathfinders) for Lancer says "single white rivet". Guess I will be drilling that out tomorrow.

I'll bet all the Detachments are having that problem Daniel. SpecOps, White Armor, and Blizzard all direct their members to the CRL's on their forums. I would almost think it would be better for the main 501st site to caveat the CRLs there with something like "This CRL is for reference only. Most current CRLs are maintained at the Detachment level and found via their forums". I agree about the confusion and I was confused as well until the folks here directed me to use the CRL located here. Not sure why it's so hard to get the 501st CRL updated to current standards. Maybe a question for the Det head shed?

Jeff is right. the Lancer spec (http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=12081) defines a WHITE rivet under item #8 "With a 50mm (2") white cotton or nylon belt secured each end of the hard belt with a single white rivit." We as a detachment really need to get these discrepancies cleared up and bring both the 501st page and the det pages current for CB and TB.

I agree with you Blitz but the Lancer spec indicates a white rivet for the belt. I know Mickey is on point and it's silver but the spec calls for a white one. It's time for the Command Staff to take up the CRL(s) issue and get these items corrected. I'm not saying they're not busy but this really needs to be added to the 2016 agenda and get fixed. Folks working towards a basic or a Lancer approval shouldn't have to redo work because the CRL(s) either here or on the 501st main aren't accurate that's not fair to them. We need to lead the way on this and get our CRLs up to date and fix this problem.

The discrepancies have been noted to the 501st Admins a long time ago, but I can only assume that they are so swamped under that they have not gotten to them on the list. Thus far we have had no control over that.

I think the LMO team (over on the 501st main section) is implementing a new era of change in which the DL's will have a much larger control over the CRL's themselves.

 

 

Brushing up on the CRL's both standard and Lancer is already on our list of things to do in 2016.

 

No doubt the Lancer spec will get some edits/additions this year, as these are currently being discussed but they will be announced.
