Hey everyone! With my purchase of an RS helmet (still waiting for it to arrive...in the 3rd wave), I figured I get the jump on weathering my armor. I'm a perfectionist and a "screen accurate" snob so I feel like weathering is technically the only option ;)

When approaching weathering are there any sort of templates or techniques that are tried and true for a screen accurate weathered look? I've read that the original armor was painted white and then rattle canned from a distance with black spray paint...anybody done that?

I've got an airbrush and all the necessary tools...I just wanted some input before I got started. Thanks!

Yes I've done it. You get the screen look for sure with the rattle can spray. I weathered my daughter's scout that way. Just make sure you test out and or practice with the can and a piece of cardboard or something. What I mean is figure out what distances you wanna spray from.

If you want screen accurate then black rattle can is the only way. Pretty sure that's how RS is going to do your lid so you'll want to match

And technically the Scouts on the Death Star when the Emperor arrived were not weathered so a CWTB is a totally legit option

Can't we just forget about those guys on the deathstar? We all know they haven't seen any real action ;)
