Mudflap Question

I have brought some black suede and measured it out etc

However someone in my group said I will need to double layer it and then make it stiff like thin cardboard.

Also it does fray what I have

is this right?

 

Though I don't know how I would make it stiff though

You want like you see in the movies where you can set and the bund strap can easily be brought up over it. No it doesn't need to be like cardboard.

Single layer is fine. You have to be able to sit on it!

Single layer is fine & real suede WILL NOT fray.
