Canterbury Tail
For those Pathfinders in Canada, where did you get your boots? I've been to about a dozen places in and around Toronto, and looked online, and can't find a good base boot. The ones I've been finding have all been either Timberland's (a little pricey and the soles are starting to become bi-coloured) or have steel toecaps and are thus real heavy. Dart
I made mine. Try looking on ebay or even places like Walmart, Payless... places like that. Or, you could get them made by one of the capable members here if you choose not to make your own.
Canterbury Tail
I want to make my own. Payless, Walmart etc only seem to have steel toed boots that match the sole colour. The steel toes would be too heavy, especially once you're not able to fully lace up to the top, so I don't think they're a good idea. Tried Payless, Walmart, Canadian Tire, Marks and a load of others over the last week to no avail unfortunately. Was even looking at a pair of used desert combat boots from a surplus store, but they wouldn't have really worked. May need to try further afield. Retrofire
If you have access to a Kmart the boots I used the Texas Steer Men's KMAX2 5-inch Wheat Suede work boot. They run about $20US they have a solid color sole and are easy to mod for Lancer. Just remove the upper grommets and mod the soles with the notch cuts. I modified a pair for my build. Canterbury Tail
Yeah, no K Mart in Canada that I'm aware of. I notice there is one in Niagara Falls. I may be able to nip over the border for a day and pick some up. Maybe a couple of other things. I was hoping to start with the boots but seems I may need to wait a bit for that due to the sourcing difficulties. I don't want to pick up a pair of near $200 Timberlands and attack them with a Dremel.
Canterbury Tail
So I nipped over the border this morning to Niagara Falls, NY and picked up the boots at K Mart. 2 pairs, in case of screwups. Also grabbed some adhesive, sewing materials and good old Cherry Coke (no idea why they won't sell that in Canada.) So other than the holster (which I won't order under I have more of my soft armour done) I have everything to go for the boots, hopefully start during the week. Some of those kits (like my SC) come with the holster so it'll save you from spending more. That way you can focus on your boots. PandaTrooper had a good method of tightening up the sole fabric that might be of help. Here's his thread: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=9781 You also might want to start a build thread too so you can post pics and we can help out if you need. It's been a boon to me throughout my build to have other Pathfinders jumping in to help.

I'm planning on getting the SC once I have the cash and the exchange rate improves, but for now I'm going to concentrate on my boots and soft armour. I know I can't 100% finish without the holdter, and I may need to adjust the boot height down once I get the knees, but I can make a first pass. I can do a build thread, see how crappy it turns out
Sebswgougou
I'm from Montreal, and I'm wondering the same question, where to buy the boots. I will try at L'Équipeur... will see
