So, I am starting on the patches and mudflap. Still working on the pattern, but I am concerned that the patches and mudflap are the wrong color. When I bought the suede it was black but looking at the pictures they look gray. It also appears I may have tailor the Red Kap more.

Pictures are a hard read since they don't always give a representation of true color but they look a little too light to me. A little more reddish brown than black. Maybe you could dye them in black to darken them up a bit?

One idea I've seen other use is that they use snaps to attach the mudflap so they can remove it if they need to wash the suit.

Somebody around here has a template for the riding patch. Take in mind the mudflap needs fit your build. Not to wide, short or too long. Maybe someone can pop in with it.

Thanks Peter, When I bought it from JoAnn's it looked black but I agree it seems to be a different color. I like the idea of the snaps for the mudflap.

Thanks Tim, I do have the template. Looking more closely at the pictures I thing the real issue is the Red Kap. It is too baggy for me to see how the template is working. I think I am going to remove the mudflap and have it tailored before trying the patches.
