Cleaning my flight suit (red kap) and bund (made by marcel)

I had the redkap modded by chunk, and the bund made by marcel.

 

My question is cleaning? Ive worn them a few times, and the last few i was pretty sweaty.

 

I have never washed anything that was suede, and I dont want to ruin anything.

 

Any suggestions? Dry clean? Just in my laundry?

 

I want to bund to stay white and nice as long as possible.

 

THen ill just be a dirty scout

It's probably in the threads above

...But I remember reading just go ahead and wash it. If anything it "breaks in" the suede a bit and gives it a nice, lived in look.

The suede will turn yellow. I just wash mine in rubbermade container by hand with color safe detergent. Then I take it out side to the hose and wash it out.

I have real suede and have washed it several times...... And it has not turned yellow

I turn my suit inside out and wash it in cold and either hang it dry or throw it in the dryer. The suede does get "ruined" but I just call that weathering! It looks totally fine and is a lot better than wearing a funky suit!

I know most of the time once suede gets wet it's starts to turn a funky yellow.

I haven't had this "funky yellow" issue on either of my suits. It just gets a little dull and less soft. But I imagine that's how suede riding patches would get flying around on a speeder bike at 120 mph
