redbird96
Hi all, Not sure where, in the forum to post this so I'll just leave it here. Does anyone know of a wireless mic that's available comparable to the Memorex MKA382? Thanks in advance. EK
stasz
Are you thinking about using this with a scout costume? Only reason I ask is that I don't really think wireless would be advantageous. In fact, it would give you more to have to carry (speaker, transmitter AND receiver). I've seen guys use these on TIE pilots, whose buckets are considerably roomier though. For me, a headworn mic with a short cable concealed by my neck closure and vest sneaks right into the Aker in my right pouch. batninja
For my TK, I bought an inexpensive ($20) setup, QFX M-309. http://www.qfxusa.com/ItemDetail.cfm?ItemID=1296 http://www.qfxusa.com/Pdf/M-309.pdf It comes with a lavalier mic, a headset mic, small transmitter, and even smaller receiver (the antenna is a length of wire that can be tape-mounted in the chest armor). I had to buy a 1/4" female to 1/8" male adapter, but the entire setup fit in the chest plate. I took the circuit board and battery out of the transmitter and sewed a small pouch for them that mounted in the back of the helmet. I plan to use it in my Scout as well. I'll be working with the fitting of the transmitter box (or pouch) once my helmet pads come in the mail. Along with the Aker amp, my tiny MP3 player, and PTT cable, this is a pretty sweet setup, in my opinion. My only concern is being able to mount the mic in a way that reduces feedback.
