Seller Reputation for Soft Parts?

Hey guys, Im new here, been lurking a while and I have looked at several places for the pieces I need, can any of you veterans tell me if these places meet 501st requirements or have bought from them before?

Kropserkel - Looking at the Vest and Bund as a possiblity.

FAC - Flight suit, anyone have theirs? Does it come modded with the suede?

https://www.etsy.com/shop/KriptonTop <This place. Looks accurate but IDK... proper vest and suit?

Any feedback would be great, I havent posted here much because there isnt much to share at the moment, but I am in the process of trying to piece together a Lancer approved build.

Cheers.

I would avoid the KS soft parts. They seem to suffer the same elephantiasis as the armor.

The KriptonTop stuff seems to be Cucblack -- he makes great stuff, I have his vest, but there have been issues with orders taking an extraordinarily long time to arrive.

FAC aka MC -- they make quality stuff but wait times can be months. You'd probably be better off just buying a Redkap suit off Amazon for $25 and modding it yourself.

My man Gabe here in Los Angeles makes soft parts. Give him a look too:

Ok guys, thanks for fast replies.

Is the KT something I should just avoid then? I was more worried about it being approved for Lancer. Same with anyone else who does custom work...

Where can I find Chef?

Appreciate the info.

Lord nevermind that nonsense.

If I buy this Red Kap do I leave the pockets? I already know a tailor who can mod the rest. What needs corrected?

If you want Lancer then the riding patches and mudflap have to be real suede and make sure the loops around the thighs are 2" elastic. All the visible pockets will have to be removed and most of us use on to make the mandarin collar show in this thread:

and here for the CRL description:

I would recommend taking pictures of the flight suit to your tailor to help explain how you want the suit modified/fitted. I would also recommend adding elastic to the legs of the suit so it doesn't bunch up above your boot. You can find the patterns for the riding patches and mudflap in the soft armor forums. I'm sorry I don't know exactly which ones. I hope that helps a little.

There are a few posts that outline what needs to be modded. I didn't do one so unfortunatly I don't have experience in the mods. I did buy one tho and it was very very tight on the shoulders. I am 5'11" and I would prob get a " long" version (L) if I were to order one again.

What's nice about Etsy though is at the very least you can use Credit Card / PayPal (as non Friends & Family) so there is warrant to get your money back if things go south.... if you just send PayPal as Friends & Family then that is as good as a wire transfer (aka good luck getting that back if the vendor is dishonest).

A valid point.

I actually have access to a tailor here, but they are a bit of a hassle to work with, despite doing good work...so I was just curious because it is nice to find people who already know what they are making and dont have to be shown and explained to.

Chef is the Pathfinders' resident Armorer. You can send him a PM here.

I want to find a tailor to make me a new one .. I like the material from the CB one- the redcap is pretty thick. I want to try and get a somewhat lightweight one that will look the same. They sell patterns for making your own from scratch but I am not that skilled at sewing
