Pretty good! The sole is one color so you won't have to worry about that and the tread on the bottom will make it easy to cut the boots if you want to go Lancer:

I went with the Texas Steer Men's KMAX2 5-inch Wheat Suede work boot from Kmart. They run about $20 they have a solid color sole and are easy to mod for Lancer. Just remove the upper grommets and mod the soles with the notch cuts. I modified a pair for my build.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Those Texas Steer Men's KMAX2 - look really good, price is nice too. Looking forward to my boot build.

I got my vinyl from Hobby Lobby but I'm sure you can also find it at JoAnne's or other fabric store. Also, get yourself a tube of shoe goo and a box of pushpins for stretching. The boot tutorial is really helpful.

Make sure the vinyl streches. My fabric store carries 2 different kinds of white vinyl. I made 2 pairs of boots & used the strechy kind.

I liked those OP ones so much I ordered them, something about the color of the single tone sole impressed me.They are very comfortable, the sole is a softish gum rubber rather than a harder one. District has spring break next week so I have decided it's the perfect time to do boots and mod flightsuits. I'll let you know how they turn out.
