Darksavage Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Apologies if this has been covered, I'm curious how everyone keeps their blaster from falling out of the boot holster? I have a magnet setup and I'm curious how people mounted the magnet to the boots? Just walking around the blaster would fall out if I turned.
BikerScout007 Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 My magnet is on the bracket inside the boot that helps the boot hold its shape. I glued the rare earth magnet on it with E6000. Then my blaster has another magnet in the handle under the little button thing
Bubonos Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 I'm wondering about this as well. Got a 3d printed blaster and it is weightless. It seems like it will fall out easy.
Darth Voorhees Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Check out this thread i posted a lil while back. I think it'll suit ya http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=10291 1
Darksavage Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 That looks like that will hold up really well. I'll have to modify mine.
Griffin-X Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 I have a round earth magnet in the transistor section of my blaster. It corresponds with a metal piece on the inside of my boot holster. Holds it in nicely. 1
NegativeEleven Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Yeah, I totally missed Lou's tutorial when doing my blasters. A couple years after that was posted, I put up a tutorial for adding round magnets under the transistor. It's much stronger if you can get your blaster cast with the magnet embedded in the resin though. Edit, here's my 2014 tutorial. Either will work, but if your holster is already mounted to the boot, Lou's tutorial will be easier. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?/topic/11894-Adding-magnets-to-a-resin-blaster
stasz Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Had this posted in similar discussion a while back: You can also drill out the circle (in red) on the hand grip and glue in a rare earth magnet, and sew a little pouch on the inside of the boot enclosing another magnet or metal piece to bind to, or even put Velcro on your trigger guard (in green), and corresponding Velcro in the holster. Honestly, if I'm trooping with my blaster I hold it 98% of the time. But I do think it looks Badass in the boot holster.
AShadyPanda Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Definitely gonna use the magnet trick on my build!
Retrofire Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 Has anyone tried that magnetic paint on primer you can get at Home Depot? I was thinking of using that and a couple of rare earth magnets in my holster. I'm struggling with taking a knife to my Hyperfirm. I don't think I have the guts to do it.
NegativeEleven Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 That paint probably won't be strong enough to hold a weighty blaster in place.

Good point and I think you're spot on with the heavier resin types but my Hyperfirm was pretty light. I've since gone with Lou's modified blaster with the mag cast in. Looking forward to seeing how that works out. Has anyone tried that magnetic paint on primer you can get at Home Depot? I was thinking of using that and a couple of rare earth magnets in my holster. khazara Posted May 15, 2016 Posted May 15, 2016 I just added a little white craft foam into my holster to make the blaster fit in snug.
