BikerScout007
Nice work with your build. Here are your Lancer review notes: 1) Biggest issue here seems to be the shape of your pouches. They are too rectangular. Pouches are higher than they are wide, but yours seem to be about an inch too high. 2) Your right vest sleeve seems longer than the left. Could be the photo but that's the way it's coming out 3) Bicep armor should be brought up to meet the bottom of the vest sleeves are turned a bit more forward. This is bicep armor after all, not elbow armor! 4) The scope on your blaster seems a bit too forward. The turret section should meet the mount. See the link below. And this isn't necessarily an app killer, but your suit legs seem like they were brought in a lot. The scout undersuit shouldn't be quite as form fitting as the Stormtrooper bodysuit. Normally we have to tell people to tailor their legs to make them less baggy, but yours seems to have gone to the other extreme. Not sure if there's anything you can do to fix that at this point. But overall, very well done Below is a link to a pic of a screen-used blaster: http://forum.bikersc...showtopic=14925
MrPoopie
Thanks for the info. It's very helpful. I was worried about the vest sleeve length. I noticed it before. They are actually the same length but I think my shoulders may sit a bit unevenly causing the issue. that shouldn't be too difficult to shorten though. I'll take a look at the other issues and see how I can adjust/modify things so they are correct. I'll make some fixes and repost some new pics afterwards.
MrPoopie
I went ahead and made a new vest and pants. I wasn't very happy with the previous vest anyway. The new pants are less baggy and have a slightly larger riding patch (even though it's probably not noticeable. The vest is more even and just all around made to fit better. The pouches have been shortened by 1 inch but the rest of the measurements remain the same. I also moved the bicep armor up a little more than an inch and inward a little less than an inch. The insides of the bicep armor now touch the chest armor when my arms are at my sides. As for the Blaster, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. It's a Hyperfirm blaster just like many other people so it's going to be a certain size and make. I'm not sure I know a good way to adjust it since it's foam rubber, but if it needs to be done, I'll have to figure something out. If you have a little more detail about what needs to be done I might get my head around it better. Thanks.
BikerScout007
Looking really good dude, you went the extra mile. Question -- are you wearing your belt that low for a reason? Can you bring it up to meet the bottom of the pouches or is your bund going to stick out?
MrPoopie
The belt is sitting on the tops of my hips but i could probably bring it up about an inch (maybe 2) or so before the bund becomes visible from underneath. When the pouches got shortened there was more room beneath them. Obviously I'm a pretty slim guy so sizes become a bit weird to convert. You adjust one thing and then it effects several other things as you'd imagine. I do have some wiggle room with the belt though.
BikerScout007
It looks really low. We are trying to encourage scouts (especially Lancers) to wear their belts across their waists (so, over the belly button), to meet the bottom of the pouches and look more accurate to how the belts were worn in the movie. We realize people wear their pants low these days but we're trying to recreate 1983 here! So yeah, an inch or two would definitely help
MrPoopie
Haha, not a problem. I am definitely not one of those folks who wants to wear their pants too low, these pants especially are all the way up otherwise the riding patches and crotch strap don't fit correctly. I'll take another pic tonight with the belt in the higher location to make sure the bund isn't visible and more in line with where it should be. Thanks for the helpful criticism. I'm very new to all of this and just want to make sure I get it right from the beginning.
MrPoopie
These aren't the greatest pictures (I was in a hurry), but they give a better indication of how it looks with my belt up higher. That's about as high as it can go without the bund showing below.
