Tarmac
My wife, being short, has the shoulder bells hanging down where they cover the top of the upper arm piece of armor. I told her the bells should be cut so that there is a space between the bottom of the bell and the upper arm piece. Every pic I see shows this, but she hates the idea of cutting the armor. Help me out here guys, tell her it needs to be shortened. Pic is in my wip thread. Question: when it is cut, is there a regulation spacing from the upper arm piece or is it sufficient that there is a clear gap?
Stroker
Does she have a SC armor? If so that's typcial. Most people have to trim a bit off the bottom and round the edges.
BikerScout007
I'm 6 feet tall and I cut about an inch off my shoulder bells. The SC ones are too long out of the box. Show her some reference pictures from the film and she'll see that the scout bells are not all that long. And if you cut them shorter, then you can wear the bicep armor on your bicep instead of your elbow!
Dart
Just be sure that when you chop them down, you take some off the sides as well as the bottom, to keep the general proportions correct. But yes, it's a common thing to do.
Tarmac
Thanks guys, she is now convinced. Just needed to hear from someone more knowledgeable on the subject I reckon. Good advice on trimming the sides too!
