Soft Armor Complete

Retrofire

Recommended Posts

I wanted to post a pic of me in my soft armor for review. I wanted to wait until I had my armor before I put the pouches on to make sure they sat right under my chest armor. Comments, corrections, suggestions welcome. Thanks!!

One thing that stands out is the extra material right above the boot.

Some folks like to put elastic stirrups on the bottom of the leg opening so that there's no bunching.

Otherwise, you look like you're well on your way.

Yeah I saw that too. I'm learning that it's hard to make sure you're all together without another person to look you over. I thought I had the pant well tucked in but the camera doesn't lie. That's a great suggestion and I'm going to implement it. Thanks Dart!!

Thanks Scavenger but I can't take credit for that. I didn't have the chops to sew the real suede onto my flight suit so our Exec, BikerScout007, suggested that I contact Gabe over at MSC do it for me. I wanted to go for Lancer in the future so I wanted the real suede. It took awhile to get but he did an excellent job.

I've chomped out the thigh patch pattern found here, but it does seem... small. You think I can find the one where someone used 2 of them overlayed on each other to make it wider.. nope :P

I have an event in 2 weekends time, a major one I was hoping to appear for. but other than the ribbing I can't bring myself to sew up the bund properly without a solid path of adding velcro to hold it up (to 1 panel so hidden) or not :/

My 3 month target is slipping away

Here's a thread that might help. http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=13065. There's a pattern that you can take and mod to your size. Wookievader's build thread might help too. Is there someone in your garrison that could help you knock out the bund? Don't panic trooper there is always a solution!
