Scavenger Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Now there's an idea for a kit...a storage box with in-box shelving complete with shaped foam packing material. 1
Retrofire Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Stanley makes a nice roll around system that's more like carry-on luggage. It's smaller an narrower. I just need to make sure my back plate with tank will fit. I can use the top box to keep my emergency repair supplies in. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk 1
Forest Ranger Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 Thanks everybody! My lid should be here in the next two weeks given my turn around. I will be ecstatic.
Retrofire Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Can't wait for mine to come in either! There will be pics for sure! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk 1
Forest Ranger Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Update: Scout armor ordered from SC just now, helmet is shipping next week, boots come in today, and waiting for my vest to be finished by Chef. 3
Forest Ranger Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Boots by Chris, thanks! Notches to be added to the front, and moving the dog bones up a little for better accuracy. TB liner for my Alt. 1
Forest Ranger Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 Did some exacto knife work to start off, and used a dremel to smooth out my rough areas for an idea of how I'll be finishing the notches. I'll be cutting out the initial slots with the blade before taking a dremel to it, but I've gotta get a different dremel tip today for more accuracy. I also removed the dogbone on one of the boots, cleaned up the vinyl, trimmed it, and put it back on with E6000 so it's no longer over the sole. 2

Forest Ranger Posted March 27, 2016 Author Posted March 27, 2016 Took a break from the boot I re-glued to start my notches on this one before I move the dogbone. 1
Forest Ranger Posted April 1, 2016 Author Posted April 1, 2016 Boots need a dremel cleanup, but are 99% done. 1
Retrofire Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 The time has finally come. Woohoo!!! What a great feeling it is when the armor arrives! Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk 1
Forest Ranger Posted April 2, 2016 Author Posted April 2, 2016 Helmet confirmed to arrive next week per Spike! 1
NinjaScout Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 Very excited for you. When the gear starts arriving, it is the best feeling. 1
Scavenger Posted April 2, 2016 Posted April 2, 2016 So jealous. What dremel tip are you using for cleanup of those cutouts? 1

Forest Ranger Posted April 3, 2016 Author Posted April 3, 2016 Using that as well. Looks like bucket came while I was asleep today, so I have to wait until Monday for pickup, but hey, it's here at least, and safe at the post office. EDIT: Flightsuit ordered through Chunk, now I just need a bund. 1
Retrofire Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Sweet! Did you replace the traps? I think mine is supposed to be here this week.
