I have been eyeballing SC like crazy, but I want to be sure that I'm making the right decision with my pocketbook. I have a fairly small head (comes with being a chick), and from what I've read here on the board, SC is the way to go for the more average size, and small noggins. Any opinions? I haven't really been considering any others, though I've kept an open mind about them. In all reality, I want something that looks accurate, and doesn't require hefty modifications. I want a 501st approved bucket at the end of the day.

With the helmets that are readily available I recommend Altmanns and SC to people. The SC is a bit lighter. I noticed it when I tried each in right after the other but got used to the Altmanns right away. Both vendors are great to deal with, don't lie about their time frames and care about the members here- and those things are important to me when you look at the services provided by others.

Thanks a bunch, I think I'll be making a decision soon.

SC is probably the best fit for you.

Yeah, I think so, the buckets are super nice. Thank you for the extra push of assurance.

They are light too, which is a good quality for longer troops!

Oh, I plan on trooping like crazy, so the lighter, the better!

Welcome, ScoutAdept. With enough sponge padding or a hard-hat liner I would have thought you could make any bucket fit. I think some people have used motorcycle helmet liners, too, although from experience that would be far too hot for me.

You get used to the weight - people still think my motorcycle helmets are heavy, but I don't notice it - and Scout buckets are a *lot* lighter!

I have looked at other buckets, I'm definitely wanting something that fits my body type, and with my tiny head, I really don't want to look like a bobblehead :smiley-sw013:

I'd go with the SC or the Altmanns as well with a lean towards SC. I own an Altmanns and I LOVE it, but it might look big if you have a small frame. Best thing you can do is hit up local scouts in your area and ask if you can try their helmets and see how they look on you if at all possible.

If that's not an option, you'll be fine with SC or Altmanns.

Good luck

I'll see about messaging Spike when I get the money saved up. Do you know how much they usually run for? I don't have a limit.
