It's so crazy to me, the minute I started looking up the standards of Star Wars costumes for both the 501st and the Rebel Legion, I had to discover an entirely new set of clothing-based vocabulary!

So, I know that a cummerbund is usually something you wear with a tuxedo (even though I never wore one when I went to prom back in high school), but how the heck is it supposed to be put on/taken off, especially with the cod flaps installed for the armor?

its a big rectangular piece made of two pieces of duck cloth with batting in the middle. it has velcro straps. imagine a girdle but with no string and only velcro. some have velcro cod straps..some dont.

I've found it easiest to put it on back-to-front so I can do up the velcro neatly; then slide the whole thing around me. Then pass the strap between my legs and up the back to attach.

Hi Stefan,

Another Idea, find out where your local Garrison will be trooping soon and you may find a Scout or two and they maybe able show you first hand. We have many cadets doing the same thing. I have two Cadets coming over to check out the Scout at my end of the world.

good luck

The best thing for me was squiring for a few people and not only seeing what is done but actually helping some put on their kits.
