How exciting! Today I am starting on my armor. I am starting with the belt, preparing the slots and measured the points where to drill the holes for the rivets. In this topic , I will keep you all posted on the progress! 0bf3e5395443b0c2556cdd108449a964.jpg19b149e4da6d48b031fa6a02383c3ec2.jpg

Drilling the holes, I taped some rough painters tape over the side, to prevent the drill is slipping away

Not sure if you are looking to get approved ( which is fine if you aren't ) but I don't think the rivets in the belt will pass. You can glue the pieces with E6000 and it will hold

I want to get approved. talked to the liason of my garrison and saw several clearance pics here where rivets has been used. For lancer you need to glue the belt as rivets arent allowed..

Maybe some of the other guys can clear this up for me .. Is my belt with rivets basic clearance material? Thanks!

I went back and looked it up- I am wrong - the 501st page says one piece look is for level 2 only. Sorry about that.

Yeah, he can build it with two rivets for general clearance, but will need only one for Lancer approval.

Thanks hawk01 and no worries buddy!!

Thanks griffin!! , shall I paint the rivets head white?

The concern I had was that the rivets connect the ends to the center belt. I really thought that had to be glued for basic. If it was 2 for the webbing I could see that getting by but I swore they had to be glued to the center section for basic

Yeah, it is sometimes hard to know all the rules by heart mate.. I asked the liason of my garrison before rivetting especially for this! It all worked out buddy!

Another update:

I need to sew the velcro and split the 2" wrbbing before I can attach the 2" webbing on the belt with rivets

Than I can adjust the length and attach the 1,5" webbing to the 2" webbing

We are getting there!

Small update because of lack of time during the holidays : Sewed the velcro on the straps of the belt and drilled the holes, so I can attach them with rivets. Then adjust the 1,5" webbing at the right length and attach them with rivets to the 2" webbing.

When this is finished I start with the TD

Merry xmas and happy holidays everyone

I am a bit stuck on the chest- and backarmor. I am in doubt if I need to trim the ends on the shoulders. I use a gap of 2" in my shouders . Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

Snap. Is there a hidden camera here lol...

At same point with 2cm gap at shoulders.

Seems to bring up the front cut closer to the neck but that's about it. So going with it for now, guessing I can adjust later if need be but can't add it back

After such tests, I'm also wondering how big to make the curves to stop getting snagged but leave strength

After directions and feedback of Chunk I came to the conclusion I don't have to trim at all, i did a retest and all suits fine!!! YES!!

Finally have some time of this weekend so hope to make some big progress!!
