Strider Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Hello fellow tree dogers, I've been building a new bikerscout armor aiming at Lancer status from the start. Still waiting on the RS Props helmet to arrive though before I can start the application. Any comments/ feedback is much appreciated! Thanks
Guest Forrest Patrol Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Interesting way of doing the boots. Add Velcro under the biceps to stop them slipping down.
Strider Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 Thanks, yep that's still on my list. I velcroed the padding of the boots in case I want to adjust it later on.
4505Marcel Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Definitely want to move the pouches up and outwards bud
Strider Posted December 5, 2015 Author Posted December 5, 2015 Ah, right - thx, bro. That's a quick fix ;-)
Chunk Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Im not too sure about the boot sole front. I thought for Lancer they had to be knotched out as weel. Marcel can clarify
Daelma Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 DIRT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It neeed DIRT DUDE pouches little bit more move outside... and YES really SWEET Biker ! def. one of the Best Top in the German Patrol 1
zarintyr Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Is the thigh suede bridge needed or does it get covered up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Marcel can clarify The boots were made by Marcel, so they are def. Lancer spec. Not sure what the canon on the toe section is, my guess would be that the knocked out part on the toes doesn't need to go all the way up as the heel section. DIRT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It neeed DIRT DUDE pouches little bit more move outside... and YES really SWEET Biker ! def. one of the Best Top in the German Patrol Oh, yes absolutely!! Getting dirty is the fun part I've already adjusted the pouches and sewed some velcro on the suit to hold up the biceps parts.
trooper_trent Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Congrats on snagging an RS bucket. Cant wait to see it. But I'm also digging the Fett helmet as a temporary substitute.

Thx, bro - me neither ;-) Should have taken one of Chef's helmet in the meantime...unfortunately I can't get my bikerscout approved wearing a Fett helmet, lol.
thisiskevin Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Would love to get an RS bucket... if only they dont cost a whole kit T__T you are a very lucky man!
Strider Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 I wasn't quite happy with my cummerbund so I decided to do a knew one; Next stop will be the pouches which I plan to adjust to my proportions and dye them to give them this authentic look 1
Strider Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Thought I share a little update on my progress (still waiting for my RS helmet): I've fixed the issues mentioned above and sewed a new cummerbund. However, I've noticed my pouches are too big now so I'm going to sew smaller ones (about an inch) as well. Also I've dyed my pouches and all the straps using black tea. Interestingly, the different fabrics take different times to take the color, so next time I'll have to leave the straps in there for longer.
Strider Posted February 28, 2016 Author Posted February 28, 2016 Thanks, bro. Yeah, they are in the "OK / acceptable" range but yet they seem a bit out of proportion. I'd say maybe 1,5 cm in width and 1 cm in lenght. I think I'll just do them with those adjustments and see how they come out. Took me 3 attemps to get the cod piece to the correct proportions, lol. This is my reference:
Chef Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Height wise they look bang on. Depth wise they could be a little thinner, but not by much. Same for the width. I wouldn't drive yourself mad over it. Each time you put them on they'll sit in a slightly different place and you'll think they're wrong. It's good that you're being so critical over it, just don't keep chasing it.
leprokn Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Looks great! Are you by any chance selling the cummerbund and pouches that you made initially?

It's all good, I just like to experiment a bit trying to push it a bit further So, I decided to leave the new pouches white this time with just a little weathering because I think it fits better to the overall appearance.
BlitzJaeger Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 NIce work. I bet you are pumped to be so close to finsihing, I like your weathering. And it must be said, as a fellow Sandy, nice TD! 1
Strider Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Thx, bro. The weathering approach used for the scout is really completely different from weathering a sandy so there was definitively a learning curve there ;-) 1
TB-17317 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Just curious. Is the Cod piece sewed to the cummerbund or is it separate? If separate, how are you attaching the cod piece?
Retrofire Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Some sew the bund and cod together and and some use Velcro to attach the cod to the bottom of the bund or even the vest. Strider put together a real nice tutorial here: http://forum.bikerscout.net/index.php?showtopic=15433 1
